Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
This fight proves that Rendall Munroe is nowhere near world level. He allowed a mediocre African to take him 12 rounds and proved that he has no power to speak of. He has yet to fight anyone with skill apart from Andy Morris (who he lost to), his opponents are all come forward types with no finesse and he even struggles with those guys.
And he is still calling out Dunne! Those Sky commentators are full of shit too, talking about Munroe's "dazzling performances", I must have missed those. What a joke!
He should have just concentrated on defending his European belt instead of exposing his limitations against a fighter like Nettey.

I agree though hes been out a lot of times recently and I feel he looked a bit short of fizz. Give the guy a holiday and see what hes like when he comes back, i do think he's more euro level than world level tho.

Knowsfuckall
Munroe is known as a slow starter it takes him a couple of cautious rounds to measure up his opponent, Netty was a typical strong African fighter who we didn't really know anything about, The only criticism i had on the fight is Munroe should have really stopped him but i don't know where you get all that what a joke from i thought Munroe boxed well,
Climb out of Dunne's arse and make a few sensible comments
Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
Think its a bit over the top to be running him down like that. I do agree that he isn't gonna go much further than euro level, but I still like him.
Also it is difficult to judge peoples power against these Africans as they are almost completely unknown, and normally tough as old boots.

Exactly, these Africans are tough, apparently that Netty has never been stopped although you dont know what hes been up against,GazMan85 wrote:Think its a bit over the top to be running him down like that. I do agree that he isn't gonna go much further than euro level, but I still like him.

I think Munroe would struggle personally at world level but i still think he deserves his shot, stranger things have happened in boxing than Munroe becoming a world champion

I bet knowitall is about 5 foot 2, he comes across like the angry little man who starts a fight every time he drinks more than half a shandy!
Calm down mate, Munroe Vs Dunne would be a good fight I don't know why it makes you so mad!

Give it a rest mate(knowitall), Dunne and Munroe have both proved themselves to be very good fighters. Let them settle it in the ring. No need to go slagging off Munroe who is a real fighter's fighter, a humble guy and a credit to the sport.
How about posting a thread that doesn't involve bigging up Dunne or bashing Rendall Munroe?

Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
I had a dream last night that the great Juanma Lopez KO'd Munroe and Dunne in a time that came to under 1 round(31 secs for Munroe and 32 secs for Dunne both including the ten count) Dunne will defend against Munroe and spend the rest of his title reign fighting bums. 8)
Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
Does anyone know where i can see this fight ? Ill make judgments then although rendall seems big at the weight and is not a big puncher

Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
I thought it was a poor display if Munroe is serious about challenging for a world title. Considering the crap Maloney has been coming out with towards Dunne , Frank's calls for that fight look slightly absurd ater last night.
The African kid was tough but hadn't he only had about 6 fights? And only won half of them.
I like Rendall and hope he does well but he struggled last night and I think his current status as Commonwealth and European champion is as far as he will go.

Munroe is probably the best British P4P binman going, but is he ready for step up to world binman level? I have my doubts.
Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
The African fighter was very tough- and indeed able- although below Monroe's level of ability.
Not really much point in a Commonwealth title any more, other than to give fighters 12 round bouts.

I am a 6'1" 19 year old amateur boxer and I don't drink mate! It makes me mad because Rendall Munroe can't take a shit without mentioning the fact that he beat the guy who beat Dunne and as someone who knows Dunne's career inside out it is a joke hear him call out Dunne when he puts on a poor performance against a shit opponent. Don't listen to this "unknown quantity" bullshit they come out with about African fighters, it is quite obvious all these guys are brought over cos they are easy pickings.DaveyH wrote:I bet knowitall is about 5 foot 2, he comes across like the angry little man who starts a fight every time he drinks more than half a shandy!

Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
I see what you're saying, but surely the best way to silence Munroe would be to get the fight on? I mean we're all boxing fans, it'd be a good scrap. Unless Dunnes first defence is a megabucks super fight I'd rather see him defend against someone like Munroe than someone who's going to pose a much bigger threat for a smaller reward.

Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
Munroe forgot about his defence when he was attacking he was standing square on Nettey was tough and durable but in the later rounds Munroe's class shown through
Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
Poor fight - he really needs to step up in competition. He should fight Booth next then have the Commonweath, European and British belts. I don't care what anyone says, having those three belts is a lot better than having the WBA's second version of a world title.
Cabellero is champion.

Poor Performance ????
Ok he didn't knock the guy out but didn't he win nearly every round on the score cards ??
I should imagine after seeing Dunne in his last fight and hearing all the talk, Munroe was probably struggling to get motivated with all due respect,
For a 19 year with a name like knowsitall says it all !!
Can you also tell me why its a joke for the Commonwealth and European Champion to call out the WBA's SECOND CHAMPION ????

Mark - first of all there is no need to abuse knowitall like that - we are all adults and dont need to stoop to personal insults to get our point across.mark thompson wrote:Exactly, these Africans are tough, apparently that Netty has never been stopped although you dont know what hes been up against,GazMan85 wrote:Think its a bit over the top to be running him down like that. "these Africans" are tough - its like someone commentating for Sky - talk about a ridiculous generalisation - next it will be "the tough streets of Accra" and "just like fighters such as x, y and z".
Nettey was crap - crude shots, no movement, little power. Munroe should have destroyed him - he didnt.

Excuse me where did i abuse him ???
And Netty might have been CRAP as you so finely put it, but i don't think he had ever been knocked out.

Re: Rendall Munroe V Isaac Nettey
referring to him as "knowsfuckall" was petty and childish and something I would expect from DG - I wouldnt like to see this forum dragged down to that level where that behaviour becomes the norm and acceptable. Thats all.mark thompson wrote:Excuse me where did i abuse him ???sligobhoy67 wrote:Mark - first of all there is no need to abuse knowitall like that - we are all adults and dont need to stoop to personal insults to get our point across.mark thompson wrote: Exactly, these Africans are tough, apparently that Netty has never been stopped although you dont know what hes been up against,
