Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Apparently, Mr Williams would like to fight Martin Rogan next.
I was thinking recently that Williams was close to being shot, but now I'm not so sure, although in fairness, it is hard to tell with Williams because his performances are so up & down.
Rogan on the other hand seems to be armour plated & he's turning out to be one of the most exciting fighters in Britain today.
He's very limited, but what he lacks in skills, he makes up for in will & desire.
He's also the older man, but he's obviously less battle scarred than Williams.
If Danny Williams can train properly & keep out of Harry Ramsden's (an humongous IF, if ever I heard one :P ), this could turn out to be one of the most exciting British fights for years.

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
I wish Williams would just retire. I'm sick of hearing of him - he so often lets himself and his fans down and frankly I don't think he needs a tough fight with Rogan now. HE should retire.
Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Rogan would out-compete, out-man and out-stamina WIlliams imo. He just has the hunger and desire to get past a plodder like Williams unless WIlliams can pull off a bingo punch.

exactly, the annoying thing with danny is, he might even be able to do it, but would only do so when we had all given up hope and written him offTheCobra wrote:Rogan would out-compete, out-man and out-stamina WIlliams imo. Dannys Punch resistance has completely gone he should hang them up imo, can only see one winner if this fight happens.

Having said that if the Real Danny Williams shows up it's a no-contest. Unfortunatley he has gone walkabout since the Tyson fight.
Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Rogan seems to be the man everyone wants a crack at, though agter they fight him they all seem to say the same (well since his 5th fight anyway) one tough cookie.
Rogan has hit the big time now, going from £1000 purse fees that some Hw journey men turned down, to winning Pf and then going on to beat Skelton. Rogan is in the shape of his life and for a guy that used to run 6-9 mile a week to running up to 15mile a day at times now and the weight he has shifted has made a great improvment on his speed and stamina. (and I hear the wife is happy too
)
Audley is a big banger but doesnt like getting hit either. If Rgoan brought the fight to him in the first 3-4 rounds I think you could see then end of the bout before the 6th. Rogan does have power but its more accurate punches in bunches rather than the one shot KO that belshaw etc have been known for.
Anyone outside of World Level will find it hard to beat a Martin Rogan with a home crowd.
Lets see how Rogan fairs over the next few months and see if Belshaw can prove on the 15th that he has gone away and improved (massivley) then we might see an Irish title fight for Rogan. I know he is used to big money fights now but I have a little insider knowledge that the fight could be made, and both parties have shouted about the fight before so why not with in the next 12 months ?

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
A always with Danny, it depends if he turn up or not.
His last few performance indicates he really couldn't care less. Which funnily enough, the Proper Danny Williams would probably Take on guys like Valuev easily.
But, as said before, it depends if the Proper Danny Williams is there or not

Off topic, but an indian guy was told to change his chip shop name as he'd called it Harry Ramadans.Syntax Error wrote:

If I was Danny I would retire, but if he's going to have another fight (which I think he will) then Rogan is all wrong for him.
Rogan KO7.

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Forget the talk of the "real" Danny Williams. That man left the building a couple of years ago. He's now trading solely on heart, and while that may be enough to squeak by an intimidated McDermott, it won't see of a fired-up Rogan.
HOWEVER it could well be a better fight than McDermott, as Williams does tend to perform to the level of his opponent and can be dangerous when hurt. Therefore it might be fun for a few rounds but realistically there's only one winner.

Agreed, he's treated water and eaten pies since Tyson....the moments of brilliance are too few and far betweenTheCobra wrote:Rogan would out-compete, out-man and out-stamina WIlliams imo. Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
It's the obvious match to make, as usual it will be difficult to predict untill the weigh in. I strongly fancy Rogan to win against the Williams that turrned up on Saturday, but the Williams that beat Gammer is a much different proposition

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
The most likely result would be Rogan by middle rounds mauling. But with Williams you just never know.........so Danny ko4 it is then!

That's a good one.
Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
A good Danny Williams hasn't turned up since the Tyson fight.... even the wins he has had, his performances have been dire... compared to him around 2000-2001 ish. Even the Gammer win.
Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Rogan definitely beats Williams at this point.

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
I think it would go that way as well - but if Rogan was to beat Williams and then Sprott then I think that would make a nice wee set of hyped up English heavyweight boxers.TheCobra wrote:Rogan would out-compete, out-man and out-stamina WIlliams imo. Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Personally i think Rogan should be looking to fight some of the top 15 US fighters instead of another bum like Williams, Skelton, or Harrison. Audley Harrison the bigest let down in british boxing im may add (a guy who has all the makings of a great champ but is to busy talking crap to knock someone out). Im not saying the top 15 US fighters arent bums by the way.
Yeh anyway Rogan is a tough fighter but he's getting on he needs to hit the US and make some impact now before its too late.

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Danny Williams is not a bum
He just beat a very good fighter in John Mcdermott, who is much improved since his loss to Skeleton
I'd like to see anyone on this forum stay on there feet after one of his JABS, bever mind a right hand or uppercut or hook
If he gets down to 16-17 stone, he will be a force, a real one
He has a GREAT chin, he was just caught cold by Sosnoski, he has heart, and can finish an opponent with one shot
Rogan has an amazing chin, but surely, a full-blooded straight right from Williams will be enough?
And nobody has tested Rogan to the body yet- I'd like to see Danny use his height, lean over, and pick a nice left hook or right hand to the liver

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
McDermott is a fat f*ck, not "very good" and williams went life and death in the first fight and had a tough enough time in the second. No way williams can get down to 16 stone, he is too much of a mental midget to get anywhere in the game now. rogan would outman him.Costa Rico wrote:Danny Williams is not a bum

Re: Danny Williams -v- Martin Rogan
Sorry but if Rogan can stop Skelton late he's going to batter the fek out of ole Danny Boy.
Why doesn't Rogan take a Sosnowski fight to kill time?
