I guess he was surprised at Pacquiao's power at 140lbs. I certainly was.

I think the major problem for Hatton was Pacqauio's speed of punch and the angles with which he can deliver them. Pacquaio being a southpaw did'nt help either, but i think it was the sheer speed, acuracy and timing of the punches, that Ricky could'nt cope with. As some once said " speed equals power "

The speed caused so much problems but i think team Hatton underestimated Pacs powerand strenght they were relying on Hatton being stronger and more power and that just wasnt the case

That's true and in all honesty Pacqauio looked straonger than Hatton. Having said that, Hatton fought the wrong fight. He does'nt posses the skills to beat a Pacquaio in my opinion, but he played right into Pacqauio's hands, by the tactics that he adopted, which were to go forward, have no guard and throw punches, so it was no suprise that Pacqauio just picked him off. Look at the Hagler - Hearns fight. Tommy employed the wrong tactics, for varying reasons which became apparent years later and got savaged by Hagler. Then Leonard fights Hagler and adopts the right tactics and beats Hagler and there was'nt much between Hearns and Leonard as fighters, so a lot of the time it's down to the styles of the fighters and how they adapt to their opponent. Ricky did'nt adapt and paid the price.

If Hatton just brawled him he could of at least gave him a test i said when Mayweather took over he should just improve him not to change his style but thats what he did and it didnt pay off
