I think they love money way too much.
Greed will make him fight on.

Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
Hatton won't fight on just for the money (he's a multi-millionaire with the potential to still make millions after boxing) - it will be for pride. And it's a well-known fact that Hatton never wanted to leave boxing on a defeat, especially a bad one.
McCloskey for the British title.

Dioufy,
We all know the Hattons love the £s!
Remember the ticket fiasco! It's about the cash.
Hatton should never fight again unless it's against a light puncher ( which it will be).
Slow plodding lightweight will fit the bill.

city of Manchester stadium, 60,000 fans for a farewell fight against a Lazcano mk2. this is what will happen IMO

he'll never fight for less than a world titleDioufy wrote:Hatton won't fight on just for the money (he's a multi-millionaire with the potential to still make millions after boxing) - it will be for pride. i wouldn't rule out a farewell fight, an easy one at that.
if hatton is a promoter now then it might help if he fights on the main event

look at that photo of Hatton at the pool side
he dont give a fornicate - he got a grin on his face - and is just expressing that ok he got knocked out - but it was all over quick and he walks away with a few million quid.
Pac made it easy payday for Hatton by just taking him out early.
Hatton still got paid in full.

listening to Ray Hatton - it seems they are just trying to put the loss down to Ricky making a "mistake"
instead of admitting that he was totally outclassed

I wonder what allegedly is alledgeley going to say about Hattons performance.
Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
I agree, it will be for both pride and for money. I never disputed that - all I am disputing is that Hatton will fight one final time, solely for financial gain. I firmly believe that Ricky's legacy and his way out of the sport at more important to Hatton, rather than money.Counter-puncher wrote:same thingDioufy wrote:Hatton won't fight on just for the money (he's a multi-millionaire with the potential to still make millions after boxing) - it will be for pride. .

His lifestyle outside the ring would suggest that he didnt take his career too seriously and as such will never be recognised as a world greatFLINT ISLAND wrote:yepDG. wrote:I think they love money way too much.

Reading that article, I'd say it was likely that's the last we have seen of Floyd snr in Ricky's corner. I have a feeling Floyd snr doesn't stand no bollocks from anyone & I guess there was some sort of clash within the camp!
Floyd snr come across as a guy who will not back down!
Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
i think Ricky should retire, if only so i can come onhere talk boxing without some c*nt hijacking the thread aobut how ricky hatton tortured their cat or similar. twats. Honestly half the time youd think we were talking about Mugabe.
Fuckinell.
The bloke has been a great champ who has fallen short agains the very best no shame in that, lots of fighters have done that through the ages, he has been an ambassador for the sport while others have pissed it up the wall, beaten their wives, behaved like gansters, got drugged up or plainly gave in the first time they got beat etc etc, he has rpresented the British with a smile, not taken himself too seriously and endeared himself to people wherever he has gone.
He has always trained liked a devil and given it his best as he could , get off the mans case.
We should be proud of what a short stocky manc managed to do with his fistic career not slating him.
Thanks for the memories, the fights ive been priviliged to attend including that great night against Zoo and the good times Ricky .............history wil remember you more kindly than a bunch of no mark c*nts on the internet most of whom would piss there beds at the thought of taking on the best men in the square circle.
Now its time to retire mate
Amen brother peace.

Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
wow
he looks like he is just on holiday there enjoying himself
you would never guess he got totally blitzed the night before
I'm not fan of Ray Hatton or Ricky Hatton
But credit to Ray Hatton for handling his son getting KO'd with some dignity - it must of been tough for his parents to see their son masscared in front of them
Jennifer Dooley though was a embrassment as usual - if she is that weak minded - why watch the fight? - its a brutal sport - and espcially in this fight there was a the real possibilty of Hatton getting smashed down and thats what happened
Least Ricky has made a full recovery - I would not wish any real harm on him - it was a sickening KO

Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
I don't know what people expect from a picture - perhaps him crying at poolside whilst holding a knife precariously close to his wrists? I bet he's as gutted as he will ever be by what happened on Saturday night - that's something I have little doubt about.
Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
ricky, repeat after me "i retire. can i buy you a pint, mr greb?"
Re: Has Hatton made any comments yet?
He will end up lb for lb best promoter you can bet your house on it.

So she sees the man who she loves get knocked out cold right in front of her eyes and you expect her to sit there pouting like Victoria Beckham? You clearly have no idea what people go through when their loved ones take part in a dangerous sport like boxing or motorsports etc. there is always a chance that they get in that ring, car, bike or whatever and moments later never be the same again, no amount of money can change that. My girlfriend and my mother used to work themselves up to the point which they were physically sick when I went away with the army, it's an emotional reaction because of uncertainty.
