How do you think he felt seeing Hatton crushed and out cold.

BG is a tough man but I bet he shed a tear or two.

Also,if Mayweather is nothng but a consultant, why use him if you are not going to listen?

mayweather is a horrible cretin.

and the result has little to do with it.

all the fuss over him in the build up has been ridiculous.

and his comment during the fight was pathetic. :shame:

now he's came right out saying hatton should retire.

just button ya trap and go back to jail where u belong.

he just got blitzed by the speed of it all.

pac is fast for a 122 and 126ib fighter.

let alone a stocky jr welter like hatton.

it was a bad style for him and that was that.

it doesn't need over analysing.

I think Graham was saddened to see Hatton lay there Graham suited Hatton down to the ground both likeable guys and dont crave attension Mayweather is the total opposite in the build up to the fight you would think he was fighting the attension he was getting

I find interesting how Graham copped all the flak for the first loss.... and now Floyd senior cops it all for the second.

Ricky walked onto a monster shot from the southpaw stance, which has always been his Achilles heel.

If Pacman was an orthadox fighter i'd have backed Hatton to win, but he just struggles immensely with lefties.

Is it just me? I dont feel Ricky style has changed in the slightest, You watch all the tap tap tap pad work FMS does with him but Ricky hasnt really changed his style because he has fought like that for most or even all his boxing career (face first pressure fighter)

I do think that FMS thinks he is some sort of legend trainer, and that its all about him, but in reality i dont think Ricky's style or atitude was suited to him.

Imo Ricky should of stuck with Billy graham because it wasnt about money with him, Billy was his friend and cared about Ricky

If FMS was such a good trainer he would be more professional than to turn up late for training etc.

i know there are 2 sides to the story, and forgive me if i am forgetting something, but what has he really done to claim this? Oscar was already a top fighter, Guzman fails to make weight after years of showing he has potential, Hatton ktfo, Floyd Jr the most naturally talanted fighter of his generation that spent the majority of his pro career under roger???

am i missing anything?

Basically made Floyd the fighter he is, genetics dont do it alone. Made Delahoya more adaptable, made Guzman slicker, Guzman looked amazing against Barrios/Sotto and they were top5 130lbers and top challengers to Pacman, Dawson and Forbes seemed to come on under FMS too.

He also told Hatton to keep his hands up and not lunge in but I suppose you can't teach an old dog new tricks, especially under fire.

Hatton's biggest mistake against Pacman was probably that he didn't wrestle, when he wrestles/holds he imposes his will and ofcourse cant be punched

I agree with you adwatson, FMS might had added small adjustments to the top level fighters he has worked with but they were already world stars

The old saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks is true, Hatton under fire tried to resort back to old tactics, he has been trained by Billy Graham for so long and i feel Billy knows him better that anyone physically and mentally, couldnt have done Hattons confidence any good when FMS turns up late to train him, very unprofessional

Can't remember the source of the quote but it goes a bit like this

Everyone has a game plan until they get hit, then they revert to what they know.

This happened on Saturday. Pac is crazy good in the first few rounds, relentless, similar to a peak Tyson but with more skill. ricky never had the best chin in the world, just got caught early and the final punch will be seen over and over. Highlight reel stuff, Probably has more hits on you tube than that old bird with the mad eyebrows with the good voice.

I think Graham's arms were getting fcked from the padwork....I don't really get caught up in these things, mainly the boxing is my interest, perhaps more to it.
But yeah...at Ricky's age, I don't think anyone was going to teach him anything new.
Mayweather (Snr.) FFS imparted 3 pieces of advice in the sole interval in that fight...don't lead with your head....if you do (lead with your head) make sure it's moving.....and keep your hands up.........followed by..that's what I've said all along!

now I'm no expert but.."keep your hands up...." Come on......!

Facts are he led with his head and his hands were down , now i don't know Graham and i don't know Mayweather , but i refuse to believe that NONE off these trainers have told Ricky to KEEP YOUR HANDS UP in training.

Its obvious he don't listen and that 2 rounds should now be in EVERY gym world wide on dvd. with a big sign over it saying this is what happens WHEN YOU DON'T LEARN OR REFUSE TO LISTEN .

First thing every kid in the world learns is PUT YOUR HANDS UP, except Ricky off course.

i don't think Ricky Hatton doesn't know this just for whatever reason he didn't do it in that fight.
I noticed that for the second KD Ricky's hand was well and truly tucked to his chin when Pac hit it and it put him down still.....if it hadn't been there we could be talking about a round 1 KO.

Its a forum, it's what we do!

Why not have a forum where we start a thread like this?

'Hatton lost.oh well'

The no posts/discussions.

After aklk the things Hatton has said about being better trained and never being in such agood shape etc, and the way they
dropped Graham, Graham should be laughing his socks off, but he cares about Hatton, Ricky should get him and Kerry Kayes back.....if he comes back!
.
