As this thread has no relevance to Boxing, did anyone watch The Apprentice last night?
How long before that Tosser Ben gets sacked?

Actually back on topic, Hatton has looked drained at loads of fights but it's how he got down to that state which worries me, remember in Kerry Kayes he had a professional nutrionist who as Carbo said would never dehydrate him. However since leaving the Phoenix gym he's surrounded himself with the sort of people who put the muppet show to shame, the task to beat Pacquiao was a tough one at the best of times but when you're having to work with what can only be described as amatuers then the task becomes virtually impossible.
Re: Turned Out Hatton DID Have Serious Problems at the Weight
And having his hands down against the fastest fighter in the world had nothing to do with the loss??
Nothing else matters, he fought like an amateur with no gameplan, had his hands too low and got caught. A stupid thing to do against such a lightening quick fighter with a real solid smack in his fists

Ms Piggy makes weight easier than Hatton these days.

Re: Turned Out Hatton DID Have Serious Problems at the Weight
weight issue or not - Ricky got knocked out by the better man. I haven't read ALL the posts here because some are ridiculous. I thought Ricky would win but am a fan of both fighters. Truth is the best man won. For what it's worth I thought Ricky looked in tremendous shape before the fight - no weight issues, however, the pacman is deceptive and for a little man can punch like an Ox (if Ox's could punch - you know what I mean!)
All pro fighters (except heavys) have problems making the weight. That is the whole point of fighting at a certain weight - to maximize your advantage. Calzaghe was a natural cruiserweight (walked around at 14ish stone between fights) but spent years boiling down to super-middle and then light-heavy. That's the thing about boxing, it aint what you are it is what you can become.

Another mistake in my opinion from Team Hatton was allowing Kerry Kayes to leave the camp a while back - I have spoken to Kerry at length on a couple of occasions and I am completely and utterly stunned Kayes was not begged to stay!!! - not only did Kayes bring his outstanding expertise to Hatton - in addition he bought the person Kerry Kayes which might be silly thing to state - but whilst others in the team flapped like f*ck that their postions were being threatened - Kayes brought much needed professionalism but even more important a lot of humour to the camp.
For me amongst some of the errors - one big serious complete and utter f*ck up on Team Hatton was no longing insisting Kayes was part of the camp!!!

From what I understand, Spud, it wasn't their choice?Spud wrote:Another mistake in my opinion from Team Hatton was allowing Kerry Kayes to leave the camp a while back - I have spoken to Kerry at length on a couple of occasions and I am completely and utterly stunned Kayes was not begged to stay!!!

I sincerely hope we never end up with a "super-light-welterweight"!Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Not the new Pacquaio-weight of 143lbs then? Its funny though that Leonard was accused of making Lalonde drop 7lbs for their LHW/SMW fight, yet no one has a problem with Manny asking Mosley/Cotto/Mayweather to drain down 5lbs to face him.

Valid problem. No wonder he was sparked and hurt so early if it's true.

Kerry went out of loyalty to Billy Graham BUT he did say he would give Hatton all the help/advice/supplements he wanted.

Re: Turned Out Hatton DID Have Serious Problems at the Weight
Hatton obviously had problems going in to the fight. I doubt the outcome of the fight would have changed had he not had these problems with weight, trainer etc. but perhaps the manner in which he lost may have been different. I don't think anyone predicted such a blow-out for Pacquiao.
Re: Turned Out Hatton DID Have Serious Problems at the Weight
Ricky was overtrained.
It don't take a genius to see in the weeks leading up to the fight itself, that he was way below his usual weight for a Light welterweight bout.
I'm sure any pro here, who's got experience of prep will tell you that, the number on the scales aside, if you crush your body in the lead up to a fight, it can leave you mentally and physically perished.
It was written on his face and on his physique.
