Promoter allegedly has today issued the following statement:

“As members of the media are aware I called a press conference for today (5 August) to announce that the fight had been made between British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Matt Skelton and Audley Harrison,”

“This was on an agreed understanding between Harrison's company A-Force Promotions and Sports Network that should Harrison and I not finalise terms that the press conference would be cancelled,”

“I was flying back from abroad yesterday afternoon and I suggested to Harrison we meet this morning to finalise details because he was unavailable last night due a film premier he had to attend,”

“Had we finalised agreed terms, I wanted the press conference to take place today as next week is the start of the football season and obviously the media would be football mad,”

“Throughout my years involved in boxing, and I have negotiated with everybody including Don King, Bob Arum and significant boxers, I must say the most difficult I have encountered have been with Harrison,”

“I had agreed terms with A-Force Promotions and my lawyers drew up a Memorandum of Understanding leaving a few issues to be resolved,”

“One of the issues was that Harrison insisted on having three judges assigned to the fight instead of a referee,”

“I spoke with the Simon Block, the General Secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, who wasn’t happy about this. He couldn’t understand why this request was being made,”

“I had no objections to the judges, Skelton said we won’t need judges and that he would bring his own two judges to the fight – his fists,”

“If Harrison is to taken seriously in the heavyweight division, then he should take a leaf out of Danny Williams’ book who went into the lion’s den to beat Mike Tyson. Harrison has fallen behind Williams and Skelton who are the leaders of the British heavyweight ranks. If he is serious about being a respected fighter then he should prove to the British public what he is made of which until now has been all hot air and wind,”

“What is revealing to me is that Harrison was not serious about fighting Skelton is that he stated in his press release he has provisional date of November 13 in America for a fight. If he is so keen on taking on Skelton and he said on Monday that he would “take care of Matt Skelton” then why was he arranging another fight whilst we were negotiating?

“I will leave that up to the media and public to decide that one.”

I assume that the WBF belt isn't on the line then as there's only going to be one judge, so why not add this to the equation then he get's his three judges?

Or is that to easy?

Nothing surprises me any more in this sport, sometimes I wonder if we'll ever see any real 'big' fights. I'm not so bothered about Audley (except it would have been fun to see Skelton knock him out) but the one that's got to me is Vivian Harris, damn the fight with Hatton would have been a fight of the year contender.

Talk about sucked in, you lot. 8) Funny as fornicate. Loads of people come on here and slag Warren then as soon as he makes a statement, take it as gospel.

If Audley wants three judges instead of a solo ref, then fine. Just don't make the fight for the Brit/Comm titles. Hardly a big obstacle if they want to get the fight on.

A 'Memorandum of Understanding'? What the fornicate is that? As far as I know, they were planning a press conference to announce the fight and it hadn't been signed.

If Harrison is too difficult to work with, just tell him to fornicate off to the States then. What exactly, other than the judges, are the concessions Audley is asking for that makes this fight so difficult?

He had to attend a film premiere? What, in the same way Frank had to attend Earl-Murray instead of going to Louisville to support the man he knew was going to beat Tyson all along? FFS.

I am in agreement, you cant just blame harrison why on earth did Warren call a press conference when the deal wasnt signed? More than likely to try and force harrisons hand which would have rubbed him up the wrong way.

That's what I think happened too. I am just getting so arsed off with all the bollocks involved in British boxing at the moment, there are more sounds bites than highlights these days, lots of chat, and fornicate all fighting.

Everybody who is complaining about this. I ask u all, think of your favorite boxer, how would u feel if allegedly announced a fight between a fighter and ur fighter before any deal had been struck.

Yeah Audley is such a mug isnt he, he looks at Hatton v Harris being announced before it is a done deal and thinks 'hmmmmmmmm yeah Franks alrite announcing this fight now' put the shoe on the other foot and see what u think.

Also I seem to remember not so long ago there being a poll on FW.tv asking fans should there be 3judges for British title fights and only 1 out of like 100 people who voted said no. What if ur favorite promoter or fighter requested 3judges, would u say

'who the f*ck does he think he is'

I aint trying to defend Audley as I think if the fight falls through for this sole reason I will be gutted, but I think Warren just likes to concentrate on what will make Audley look worse.
