HW, the famous Black Panther, boxed 1911-1932, this is indisputed.
A Young Harry Wills, (welterweight), boxed 1925-1933.
The Ring RB 1950 shows hwgt Harry Wills's record 1944-1949...
According to the BoxRec archive, this HW had 3 fights previous to 1944; Buddy Walker in 1939, Unknown Winston in 1940 and Jimmy Reeves in 1941.
Question; Is this correct or was it yet another HW? If it is correct, did he had any other fights before 1944 and after 1949?
Tyson-Lewis TKO 6 (contraversial?)

Harry Will's, confusion
Palle it's even more complicated tha you have indicated because in addition to the orignal Harry Wills, we have Harry Wills (welterweight0, Harry Wills (the 2nd heavyweight) and a Young Hary Wills who only comes up when the Young is put in front. He has two fights listed, against Bucky Lawless in 1931 and then a later one against Cocoa Kid so I think this is almost certainly our welterweight Harry Wills. The three earliest bouts for our second heavyweight have my name attached to them but I have no record of them and I presume I just tidied up the record. However as these three bouts were in Columbus, Ohio and he was a west coast boxer, only very late in his career having a bout in the east, I would suggest he is yet another Harry Wills and should be separated.
I will see if these bouts get a mention in the New York Times and gives a hometown for him.

Colin
Young Harry Wills from Maine
I have an 90-bout record for Young Harry Wills, welterweight from Maine. He fought from late teens through 1931.
This is a totally different welter than the Young Harry Wills at http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=052059
The two bouts referred to by Colin (Cocoa Kid and the other) are probably for the above Harry Wills, not the one from Maine.
