James has been preparing well and I think he'll stop this kid!! You'll see the best of James when he get's a kid with a bit of ambition..I know how good James is as I've sparred with him and been tons of places with him too!! Believe me when I say he has got the heart and the desire to win things in this sport I just feel he is being misinterpreted (terrible speller) at the min..

The best is definitly yet to come from Chunky.. :TU:

I think DeGale will come good nobody deserves booes when he wins by a clean sweep and he just won gold at the Olyipics but SMW is the most exciting weight in Britian at the moment with Sutherland,Groves,DeGale and maybe Jeffries cant wait till them 4 meet in the future

Although its was unfair that De Gale was booed on his debut, he will continue to get a poor reception if he keeps talking about other boxers the way he does and doesn't back it up in the ring with a sensational performance.

I think he has the ability to do well but if you talk big and make big claims then don't be surprised when people don't like you if you box so cautiously on a debut.

All the best to Chunky though, I think he will go far.

If he boxed Sutherland say two years down the line I reckon the Dazzler knocks him out.
Sutherland beat him three times as an amateur and although he lost to him in Pescara and DeGale won gold while Sutherland only won bronze in Beijing, I feel DS is just going to make the better pro.

Get real mate, Degale boxed Sutherlands ears off in the olympics. Sutherland beat him because he is years older than Degale and was fighting a boy. When he fought a James Degale - The MAN, he got taken care of. No disrespect to Sutherland who is a solid pro but I think he's a bit one dimensional myself and perfect for Degale. At least Degale is fighting undefeated fighters now. Sutherland is taking on stiffs.

Well said. Sutherland is four years older than DeGale, that makes a hell of a difference when the younger guy is 18 or 19, as was the case when they met in the 4 Nations. The Olympic semi wasn't even close and let's not forget that DeGale beat the Kazakh Olympic champion who beat Matt Korobov in Beijing too.

Agreed. Degale may be brash, but make no mistake, he is the goods and by far the best of that lot.

I think Warren was hoping for an April date, but couldn't get the TV, so they are boxing May and June instead, probably July too is Mitchell's world title shot comes off.

Problem is, usual Sky money isn't enough to have the 3 Olympians on and Warren hates doing Friday nights as they get zero newspaper coverage.

How do you explain Sutherland beating Degale two months prior to the Olympics? Did James become a man in two months? And Degale only beat Sutherland by one point at the qualifiers a few months prior to that and was knocked down in the process, not exactly taking care of him. Besides tons of guys loss in the amateurs and either avenge the loss in another tournament or in the pros, one loss doesn't reflect what will happen if they fight again. Sutherland is much better suited to the professional ranks and I predict a better future for him.

Mate, they fought on the top stage where they both gave their all and it wasn't even a contest. Degale practically ran rings around him and made him look silly in there. It was embarrassing for Sutherland as he could not even touch degale and was getting picked apart. Sutherland was completely one dimensional and it was easy pickings for degale. So how is sutherland going to be a better professional? Because david haye said so?

Yes he is in with an unbeaton fighter, ah yes degale is half a stone bigger and that depends on when they weigh-in, if its the day before probably a stone bigger. If they were both the same size then this would be a good match.

To be fair, the two guys that Sutherland has fought as a pro could barely hold their hands up

Ya and they gave it there all two months prior and Sutherland won. Your putting too much emphasis on one fight that happened in the amateurs. Cotto got schooled by Abdulaev in the Olympics as well and knocked him out as a pro. The professional ranks are much different and Sutherland is going to be a better pro in my opinion because he is the harder hitter, a good body puncher, and has a relentless style that will wear guys down over the course of 12 rounds, which is obviously impossible in the amateur ranks. In Degale I see someone with an amateur like "point scoring" style that doesnt have big pop.

I am able to form my own opinion and don't need David Haye to do it for me :TU:

We will agree to disagree but the olympics is the highest stage and Degale did a JOB on Sutherland and it was VERY convincing to me. The manner of victory, coupled with the styles of the fighters (Degale being way more skilled and a much better mover and boxer) and the level of opposition they are encountering (sutherland fighting scarecrows and looking like he-man while degale takes on undefeated fighters)... lets put one and one together here mate.

I bet Cotto didn't get beaten for every second of every round against Abdullaev and look very very one dimensional in the process. I also KNOW that Cotto didn't fight STIFFS when he was coming up and was tested against solid fighters (as degale is being) so he gave himself every chance to beating Abdullaev. Degale is just a much much better fighter, even if you go off their professional outings.

We will see Sutherland becoming more and more exposed as he steps up.

DeGale beat Sutherland in the Olympic qualifier in Italy too. He lost in the EU Champs didn't he - very much a second tier warm-up tournament, as far as amateur boxing goes. The qualifier and the Olympic semi were the two times it mattered.

It was the manner of victory though. It wasn't even a contest.

Sutherland will never beat DeGale again.

Its ridiculous to say Degale is a much better fighter going off their professional outings. Sutherland has easily knocked out both guys he fought, what did he do wrong in those bouts? Yes the opposition is weak but that's the way it usually works when bringing up a prospect. What on earth do you expect in two fights? Look at the records of guys like Bernard Hopkins, Manny Pacquiao, JMM, Paul Williams, etc, they were fighting guys along the same lines and it had no effect on their carer, and I doubt it will effect Sutherland either.

Its impossible to tell at this point who will go further, but I predict it will be Sutherland.
