Jarrod Fletcher
Heard on the grapevine that Fletcher is apparently making his pro debut shortly, anyone got anymore information? Hope it's so, been looking forward to seeing this kid in the pro ranks as he is an excitement machine.

Re: Jarrod Fletcher
Met Jarrod on the gold coast last week and His trainer Steve Deller informed me he may be debuting at super middle but middle weight will be his prefered weight.
I think the name William Hadlow was mentioned as his first opponent, but cannot confirm.
Nice kid and I wish him all the best in his pro carrer.

Re: Jarrod Fletcher
Fletcher was supposed to debut at least twice before this scheduled bout, the last guy he was debuting against was 26-3 before it was cancelled, i think he backs himself, and with that sort of confidence you would assume he should make short work of Hadlow.
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
I think the match with 26-3 African was never going to happen. Bit of false advertising IMO, which I promptly removed from the schedule.Hounddawg wrote:Fletcher was supposed to debut at least twice before this scheduled bout, the last guy he was debuting against was 26-3 before it was cancelled, i think he backs himself, and with that sort of confidence you would assume he should make short work of Hadlow.

another example of the duty everyone in the industry has towards the average punter...... you know the person who in the end pays all the wages

Re: Jarrod Fletcher
His opponent has been listed here in BoxRec as Via Aki from New Zealand (8-4-4). Has anyone seen him fight? What's your views for the rest of the card on the 19th at Southport? Main bout is Col Wilson V Alex Leapai.
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
So what did everyone think of Fletchers debut, very similar style to Geale IMO, and does look the goods.
Props to Coppick, this mean has a solid chin.

Re: Jarrod Fletcher
loved his speed and confidence, good first up performance. not so sure of the low hands though, they can all get away with it against inferior opponents but there will come a time...........
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
I was about to say that Unleashed. Great prospect and looked to have all the tools to do well.unleash06 wrote:loved his speed and confidence, good first up performance. not so sure of the low hands though, they can all get away with it against inferior opponents but there will come a time...........
I just hope he dosn't pay like Willie did for not keeping his hands up and rellying on reflexes, as it only takes one punch to have your lights out.
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
Nothing like starting with a KO win.
Good luck to him.
Good luck to him.
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
my sentiments exactly unleash, I know he fought like that in the am's but you need to make some adjustments when you turn pro, as you say I'm sure he'll find out one way or the another...unleash06 wrote:loved his speed and confidence, good first up performance. not so sure of the low hands though, they can all get away with it against inferior opponents but there will come a time...........
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
has anyone got jarrods amateur record,he is one of the best prospects i,ve seen, very fast left hand combinations, his opponent was a good hard first up fight,i don,t think he will have to much trouble with hadlow, who is too tough for his own good, all the best
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
On Fox I think they said his record was something like 152 wins from 186 fights...
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
i grew up boxing amateur in qld the same time as jarrod as a junior i was a bit lighter than him (thankfully) but my training partner fort jarrod 5 or more times i would always sit glued watching when they fort jarrods technique to me seemed flawless he would have to be up there with richard rowles in the best two boxers to watch live i would say, just so natural in what he does i wish him all the best and im sure he will be the next big thing but for those in the know thats no supprise.
Re: Jarrod Fletcher
This spelling thing is an affectation isn't it? You can spell "technique" but you can't spell "fought."titans wrote:i grew up boxing amateur in qld the same time as jarrod as a junior i was a bit lighter than him (thankfully) but my training partner fort jarrod 5 or more times i would always sit glued watching when they fort jarrods technique to me seemed flawless he would have to be up there with richard rowles in the best two boxers to watch live i would say, just so natural in what he does i wish him all the best and im sure he will be the next big thing but for those in the know thats no supprise.

Re: Jarrod Fletcher
Just read an article on Jarryd Fletcher, on his quest to winning Commonwealth Gold, Jarryd beat James De Gale(De Gale went on to win Gold at the Olympics 2 years later and has turned pro with a 2-0 record. In his gold medal match he beat Adonis Stevenson who has a 12-0 record as a pro and is ranked in the top 15 by the WBC.
I'm even more interested now in his carear.
