Setanta signs deal to show ABA Championships

Setanta Sports has just announced a deal to show the ABA Finals on Friday 8th May and the British ABA Championships on Friday 29th May. This new deal will be an opportunity for all boxing fans to see the next generation of Olympic boxing hopefuls compete as part of their journey to London 2012.

The investment underlines Setanta’s long term commitment to boxing as it showcases the best in British grass-roots talent. This programming runs alongside Setanta’s ongoing commitment to high-profile boxing events such as the upcoming ‘fight of the year’ when David Haye takes on Wladimir Klitschko on June 20th, exclusively live on Setanta.

The ABA Finals on May 8th will feature 12 National Championships (all Olympic weights), live from the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield, on Setanta Sports 2 from 7:30pm.
The cream of English, Scottish and Welsh boxing comes together at The British ABA Championships on May 29th. Setanta’s coverage will feature 11 Olympic weights, this time live from the Olympia in Liverpool on Setanta Sports 2 at 7:30pm.

Trevor East, Director of Sport said, “We are really excited to be showing the new crop of boxing talent coming through. All boxing fans will get the opportunity to see these boxers on the road to the London Olympics and hopefully hugely successful careers.”
