JOEY DAWEJKO wrote:Congrats to all of the finalists! Pennsylvania has a couple left glad to hear. Brynt jennings surprised me a lot. I fought him for our regionals. I beat him but still it was a tough fight. I decided to turn pro so they let him go to states. I just wanna say he shocked me making it to the finals with just 6 fights under his belt. YES 6! Well congrats to him again. And to everyone else!
I thought a boxer had to have a minimum of ten bouts to advance in a national tournament? Can someone provide some insight here?

Okay thanks, that's what I just got from the tournament media rep as well. A pretty amazing feat for a novice boxer.

Congrats to all the boxers and especially our own Dennis's Jordan Shimmell. Also, Miguel Cartagena out of the Mid-Atlantic Association is one of the few boxers to win the National Golden Gloves after entering as a 16-year-old.

Can't wait to start seeing video of the finals.

the tournaments over here is my observation: arias vs terbunga was a good fight, which terbunga won. but lets be honest and lets be fair. arias lost to travis peterkin that 1st day, plain and simple. travis beat arias the whole fight and for the ref to involve himself and save arias just show you why we never medal the way we should in the olympics. favortism. yes peterkin did drop arias twice. one was a vicious body shot. peterkin beat #5 ranked lamar russ to make the nationals and beat up #1 ranked luis arias in the nationals, only to have it taken by a ref who took it away. travis peterkin been around a while, and i feel he is a top 165 fighter who poses a threat to anyone in his weight class. i like arias but peterkin tore him up, plain and simple

Ok, we understand, but posting under a new name with the same thing isn't going to change anything. :D Peterkins did very well for himself and he is going to Denver for USA's Championships which is for $$$, so he has a chance to see Arias again. I hope he does well too.
