The up to date news, stats and the views of like minded fans.

I do however feel a bit gay when typing a post and someone from work walks past and sees a screen with loads of smileys down the side.

Boxing is an internet sport.

i started going online in 2000.

i stayed clear of these forums for a good 3 yrs or so.

then i thought sod it let's have a go.

still a sad c*nt 5 and a half yrs later. :D
Im the saddest c*nt of the lot, been around the site since late 2001. Believe it or not, in the dark ages of boxrec the current scene was a rational place with educated posters and interesting debate. There were one or two token 'trolls' and even they were kind of ironic in their retardedness and part of the happy boxrec family. it kind of bemuses me why the current scene is full of cretins now, I'd like to come up with a more convincing answer than 'They're American'.

I come on because it is about the only place you'll find real opinion.

Mainstream boxing writing, even on the internet always either has an agenda or is spoiled by the need to keep boxers/promoters etc happy. For example, I have a huge amount of time for Steve Bunce, but he isn't always free to express his opinions on fights and fighters because the following week he may need to ring up boxer x and sort out an interview.

So thanks chaps :TU:

Get a simple-minded 10 year old with ADHD, give them loads of caffiene and sugar and you'll have your own DG.

I use forums because even though my friends do like boxing, they're not as knowledgeable as some folk on here. And it's nice to hear opinions and read discussions from people who really know what they're talking about, instead of a lot of sensationalized nonsense.

I use them because my mates who were into boxing are dead.
I also use them to see what the public perception of certain fighters whom I like to watch.
I also use them for scandal.

BIGMARK wrote:I am always surprised at myself that i use boxing forums so much because in many ways its quite sad. Now i have a decent social and home life so have no need to make or find friends online so why am i online so much? i think the case for most of us as it is me is that we crave being able to talk to like minded souls who love the sport the way we do which is hard to get with your average man on the street or average sports fan. I enjoy this forum very much as there are a lot of people on here who are in the trade and box themselves so to hear the likes of Moorsy, Darren Sutherland, Swifty, big Larry etc i find very interesting as i do with those involved with press side. I often wonder who maybe behind some of their user name and i wouldnt be surprised to find out that a lot of boxing jornos and famous fighters are online and posting but hide behind a false name, for all we know Coco is Barry Mac or DG is Ricky Hatton .
anyway, why do you pass your time online talking boxing?

DG has never been knocked out in his life, I iz not Wricky Hatton.

DG has never run form anyone ( Witter) DG is not Hatton.

DG would never refer to himself in the 3rd perso......whoops!
