Glad some agree with me. The guy shared a ring with Tyson, Tua and Klitschko and was hardly dented.

2 good shouts. :TU:

It's so hard to name 3 because as you are naming 3, there's another 3 worthy contenders. :witzend:

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned Muhammad Ali, as he took some almighty shots / faced some really good punchers in his time as well.
Yes, Ali definitely deserves a mention for his remarkable powers of recovery. If there was ever a time he would have been kayoed it was surely in the 15th round of his first contest against Joe Frazier. To rise from that tremendous left hook was amazing considering the gruelling 14 rounds that preceded it.

Muhammad Ali faced all the top punchers at heavyweight, and although he made alot of them miss, he also took an awful lot of shots from them.

I'm surprised Wayne has been mentioned so late in this thread. I shot him in the face once and he still didn't go down.

James Toney, could arguably have a case for all three of his chins and come away with a clean sweep :DD

Catches him behind the head, and pulls him down. Never take the Marvellous ones image in vain.

Hagler and McCall, Chuvalo is worth a shout when you consider who he fought.
Chuvalo was never floored in his entire career so he is a great call (although Frazier stopped him on his feet and nearly ripped his eye out in the process; Foreman also stopped him on his feet but it was a premature stoppage). I feel the thread is a bit too heavyweight-orientated, although Ali has to be acknowledged, given his opposition, as does Marciano. The Rock was floored only twice in his 49-fight career: by Jersey Joe Walcott and Archie Moore. Moore, of course, scored more knockouts than any man in history (145) and the right hand he nailed Marciano with was a beauty. No disgrace there. The left hook Jersey Joe put Marciano down with was also a beauty. Both Moore and Walcott caught Marciano still cold. Rocky was so fit, he didn't really come into his own until the middle and later rounds and eventually caught up with Jersey Joe in spectacular fashion in round 13. As for Moore, he floored him five times and stopped him in nine.
Obviously, I agree with the repeated mentions of LaMotta and Hagler. Robinson failed to floor Jake in SIX meetings between them, and the Sugar Man wound up with 109 career knockouts. Only one man ever did floor Jake (in 106 fights) and that was Danny Nardico near the end of Jake's proud career (forget the Billy Fox affair). Vito Antuofermo deserves a mention in my book. Vito was floored by Marvin Hagler in their rematch (a flash knockdown) and at the very end of his career by the hard-hitting Matthew Hilton. Our own Maurice Hope stopped him on his feet on cuts in the 15th round but Maurice could really fight. Vito, on the way up and against Hagler in the first fight, showed what an iron jaw he possessed. Ken Buchanan possessed a great chin, you know, on a par with McCullough and Eubank. He was the only man ever to stop Puerto Rican star Carlos Ortiz (who was an old man when he retired on his stool against Kenny). It was the only time Ortiz was ever stopped and he had mixed it with some scary guys, including Dartford's Dave Charnley, the best British fighter since the war to fail to win a world title. Carlos Monzon was never stopped. Saad Muhammad speaks for himself.

I'm not claiming that Lewis had a glass chin, but I think two of your examples are flawed, purely because Tyson was completely shot by the time he faced Lewis and Tua barely landed flush against him - those wins were proof of Lewis' ability and ring generalship rather than his chin.

Great call actually, I'd forgotten all about him. I'd also give Tex Cobb an honorable mention. Loved his quotes in and around the Holmes fight, where he took a sustained beating for 15 rounds. At the start of the 15th he allegedly just said: "Let's party!", and then afterwards, when asked about a possible rematch, said: "I don't think his hands could take the abuse!" Legend :TU:

Yeah Marvin was furious that was called a knock down, spoiling his 100% record, it really wasn't legit.

Salvador Sanchez deserves a mention, beat some real killers in his time and never blinked.

What about Lennox Lewis guys? Im not saying he has the best chin but to only go down twice in a career where he fought some awesome punchers, dyou not think his chin is somewhat unfairly criticised.
There is a cracking youtube compilation video that denounces the 'lennox lewis was chinny' myth.
