I've seen plenty of Tavouris Cloud to know he's for Real and would have the Power, activity and stamina to KO Chad Dawson who aint all that for me

I'd much rather see Dawson vs Cloud than Borefest's against Hopkins, Tarver or Johnson.

HBO must be out of their minds to be pushing Dawson, his boxing style and personality just dont translate to entertainment and he needs to be fighting someone like Cloud, who is 27 and hungry, very soon!

surely that depends on whether Dawson has a big alternative.

For example he ditched the WBC and a low paying mandatory in Romania, to fight Tarver for the IBF.

Not sure what he could go for instead of the IBF belt. Dawson being a southpaw and not a big draw, he needs a title of some kind to keep the opponents coming, to stay in work.

Cloud would be a fearsome fighter if kept active. though gonzalez was ancient this was his first stoppage loss. cloud looked good, powerful, but a tad raw. i think earning the IBF #1 spot was a bad thing as they've sat on the ranking. unless there is some other problem.

like a younger lacy, cloud should be busy, should be KOing guys regularly, keep ppl thinking about him, learning different things vs different styles. then ppl are gagging to see him in a big fight...and he gets on showtime or HBo for a world title shot

Dawson is the real deal and wins over Adamek, Johnson (not a robbery) and Tarver twice prove that. Anybody who thinks differently is just plain f**king stupid. The man has some unreal skills for a guy his size. The Johnson fight also showed he can hang tough. The best fighter in the world at 175 down. He'd probably be the best cruiserweight in the world as well.

i thought dawson beat johnson fairly and squarely.

he can go with it when he has to.

he knew against tarver he could coast thru some of it.

i'd tip him over hopkins if that match got made.

he's like a lot of tall southpaws.

likes keeping it long and sometimes hits the canvas when u get thru.

only slight weakness to go with the drop off in pace issues.

He seems like another Jermain Taylor to me. I don't think his stamina will stand up to constant pressure, but while he has his own way he looks good.

hey Saad, how's the post office?:roll: i hear what you say about Cloud and him being open to Dawson's classy punches but at least Cloud is a young and hungry fighter. I feel although Dawson's victories over Tarver and Johnson look good the Johnson fight was close and Tarver was past it. Fair enough he beat Ademeck which now looks a good win but i just want to see the man fight a young, hungry fighter and for me Cloud fits that bill. Just for the record i think Dawson beats him.

yep, he needs someone who will be a good foil to him. someone who will be dangerous and threaten dawson; someone who may also play into dawson's strengths. if built right it could be a great fight. chad needs the right dance partner and i think his team are being shortsighted chasing calzaghe and hopkins who don't need dawson's big risk / low reward factor at thier ancient state.

i actually think dawson is being mismanaged a bit. it diconcerted me that his promoter said they have no intention of fighting cloud. obviously fighting these old men is only gettign dawson respect, not stardom. it was smart to avoid diaconu and fight tarver instead, but this has been milked to death. not giving johnson a rematch wasn't a great move. while dawson deserved to win, many were won over by glen's excellent effort, and dawson comes across as a bit of a clazahge i..e not rematching someone who ran him close.
