I know is shameful. But I couldn't submit more fighters in the poll because it only requires 8 names. I will also include Kid Chocolate, Panama Al Brown, Oscar DeLaHoya, Felix "Tito" Trinidad, Wilfred Benitez, Eusebio Pedroza, Jose "Mantequilla" Napoles and Carlos Ortiz

duran never said no mas in the context of the beating he was taking.Sweet Scientist wrote:I'm surprised Duran gets so many more votes than Chavez...
Chavez never said, "No mas"!!!
duran was frustrated because leonard was showboating, duran liked to go to war and he just thought "ah fornicate this, if he doesnt want to mix it i`m off".
i GUARENTEE you that if leonard would have come looking for a tear up the street fighter from panama wouldnt have said no mas.
dont forget duran had already beaten a prime leonard convincingly. that fact alone deserves massive respect.

Duran, no matter how great he was, did not act like a champion that night. Champions don't quit when the going gets rough...and by your own explaination...the going wasn't getting that rough. "Ah, fornicate this" is, to me, absolutely unacceptable behavior from a champion...fight fans paid a fortune for those seats...and were cheated out of the possibilty of different outcome because he decides to quit half way through? I conceed that he was great...but the 2nd Leonard fight is a giant black mark on his career....
And, my original point was really that I was surprised Chavez has received fewer votes...to me, Chavez was a much tougher fighter...one that exemplifies the Latin 'never say die' mentallity...
I vote for Chavez...

i dont blame duran, leonard did what he though he had to to win but,
i dont like leonard for the same reason i dont like de la hoya,
leonard ran from duran like oscar did with trinidad..
"no mas" meant "fornicate this" i beat his ass once and he dosent want to fight me, and i dont want to chase him, i hold no contempt for duran that night!!

I think the problem the brilliant Brazilian has, is that compaired to many of the other fighter mentioned above, he had little TV coverage worldwide and so many fans are relativly unfamiluar with him.Rafael wrote:This poll/thread would have some credibility if Eder Jofre was included.
Which is a shame.
