I wasn't impressed. He was getting hit far to often by a limited fighter and looked very sloppy at times for a guy who is supposed to be such a slick boxer. Vera found a home for the right hand frequently and against a top level puncher it would have been lights out. I can't see him becoming world champion material, at least based on his last performance.

He still clearly beat a man that stopped Andy Lee

Credit where credit is due, I had a feeling he'd come a cropper against Vera and perhaps get stopped in the later rounds, but by all accounts he won the fight clearly. If they keep gradually stepping him up, its conceivable he could fight for a world title but as mentioned, I doubt his ability to win one.

Anyone think he's ready for Macklin then? If so then get him on the Khan undercard to fight Macklin - it makes sense as Roach will be over here anyways training Khan.

McEwan looks fast and talented but slightly sloppy technically, no power, and does get hit. Who knows maybe he will be able to get away with it as Calzaghe did. Or maybe he won't.

Vera is a tough guy but very limited. So what if he beat Lee? Lee hasn't proved anything so far in his career, simply beating a guy who beat him doesn't make you world class or deserving of praise. I can see McEwan being a low top 10 guy, but realistically not much more.

hed beat macklin tommorow in my opinion, wasnt his best performance against vera and he knows that, likes to get involved in a tear up and show he can take a shot when he doesnt need to, the performance against vera was nowhere near what craig is capable off..
