One guy is currently a world champ, Anthony Peterson, who is the WBO lightweight champ. Azea Augustama boxed in the 2008 Olympics. Look at some of the others who are now pro and doing very well: Charles Hatley, Jonathan Nelson, Karl Dargan, Sergio Perales, Rico Ramos, Luis Ramos, Archie Ray Marquez, Jesus Mendez, Javier Molina, Sammy DiPace and probably a few others. When I watched my son win the title back in 2001 I did see a lot of talent at that tournament, but I'm surprised by just how much talent there was.

Harold Parker won Natl. Silvers 3 times. Devon Alexander is a good young pro out of STL. Bear Richardson won National JOs.

About 10% of the boxers have done very well. Those are pretty good odds. Tell your boxers that if they can make it to the Nat'l Jr GG finals they have a 1 in 10 chance of becoming a top amateur and a good pro.
