The winner of Ward v Miranda is definately a good home defence for Froch.

Hopefully it can be at a 10,000+ arena with a real stacked undercard.

Green is an odd one. At times he "switches off" and can appear lethargic, doing "just enough" to win. At other times, like against DeLeon and Codrington, he looks sensational. I think he could give Froch all sorts of problems and do believe he has the power to hurt Froch. Cracking fight in prospect - hopefully they can put it together. But personally if I was managing Froch I'd get him a gimme defence after two hard fights in a row but it says a lot that he/his team are willing to take on fighters of the calibre of Taylor and Green immediately after winning the title. RESPECT!

At the same time I suppose at 31 Froch doesn't have the time to build his "legacy" against no-marks for years before finally taking the plunge, unlike some other super-middles I can think of.

I think he could do with a "routean" defence after his last two, then he can go beat up Bute and Bika before the big one against Kessler... that works in my head anyhow.

Oh I notice Pascal is fighting for the Vacant WBC light heavyweight title, what would it say for forch's reputation if he wins this one?

I can't believe he is fighting for the vacant WBC title, that would be ridiculous. He's fighting that Romanian/Canadian guy. If he wins that's a good win, but more likely he has been picked as an easy to make voluntary.

They are not fighting for the vacant title.

Who will be the champion that gives him the shot though? Preliminary talks with IBF champion Lucian Bute didn’t get anywhere, and when MaxBoxing spoke to Green on May 1st, the word going around the boxing world was that Bute was considering Joey Spina as an opponent. Yeah, that Joey Spina.

“I understand that he (Bute) is trying to get his money, but the stage is set for me and you to fight,” said an incredulous Green. “I called you out on TV, I had a good knockout on Showtime, and all of a sudden, Joey Spina? You could have gotten somebody at least halfway credible. Joey Spina got knocked out by Peter Manfredo in the third round and he’s fighting for a title before me?”

Next on the hit list is unbeaten WBC champ Carl Froch. Now Froch, says Green, is a guy he believes will step up and give him his title shot. Well, maybe ‘believes’ is too strong a word. Let’s just say he’s more optimistic of getting a shot at Froch than Bute.

“Hopefully he will give me a fight,” said Green, “but I’m a tall super middleweight, I’m a fast guy, and if these guys really don’t have to, I can’t see them doing it. I respect Carl Froch, and it may not be the smartest choice for him, but he may step up to the plate and fight. He seems like a warrior, he came over here to defend his belt against Jermain (Taylor), and I’m willing to go over to Nottingham to take his belt, just like I was willing to go to Canada to take Bute’s belt, and like I still am. I’ve never priced myself out of a fight. We (he and Bute) started talking, but we hadn’t even started talking numbers.”
