Primo Carnera Vs Joe Frazier

Post by BoxBuzz »

I've had three beers....and it's all becoming clear to me now. All the writers that witnessed Primo were paid to underplay his talents. It was nothing short of a grand conspiracy.

By the way, I pledge to return to a sober and reasonable posture after this quirky indulgence. No more tripe from me for at least the rest of the spring and most of the summer. However in the heat of August I could have a relapse into nonsensia once again.

Now I will return to quietly reading the West Coast thread and not giving in to these petty temptations of mine.

On the upside....Here is a great opportunity for each of you to get some needed practice in the art of forgiveness, on an irreverent bastard such as myself.

The poll is daft.

I think Frazier has it by KO, 3-5 rounds. I see him flooring
Primo, then the big man trying to get back up recover, fight
back, get floored, Primo is up holds on, tries to work behind
the jab...but Frazier drops him again...this time for good.

Not toast, just a bit more engaged in the humor of life.

Lucky Luciano puts two wise guys in Joes dressing room and two more parked outside Smoking Joe's house. So Joe with no choice is going to take a dive. But I the first round he tries to miss Primo to make it look like he's trying. Unfortunitely he lands a glancing blow and knocks Carnera cold for several minutes.

- This situation actually played out, but it was the pitiable Mr. E. H. Field who was the unlucky victim of concern after many rounds of Big Niko popping off jabs from 6' away, falling 3' short or 3 ' above his shoulder.

He let's loose a lazy left hook right as Mr. Field leaps in. The look of terror on poor Niko's face while recoiling in horror as Mr. Field lands on the ropes is priceless.

This fairy tale is up there with that other one you told about Jack Dempsey vs Jack Johnson.
