Alexey Ignashov flattened him with kicks to the legs (and one sickener to the head). Wasn't very edifying.
They're now showing Frans Botha and Ray Mercer against K1 opponents.

It's a calvacade of over the hill boxers lining up for humiliation for a pile of Yen.

As soon as they said that Cole had been allowed to wear boxing boots as long as he didn't kick i knew he was in trouble. You don't give up half of your weapons against and experienced MMA 14 years your junior. Even if he didn't know what he was doing a few flailing kicks could give him some space.
I bet he was limping for weeks...

Wonder how much Mercer is getting for this? He announced his boxing retirement to get out of a boxing fight and make this K1 fight.

They pitch bodybuilders and sumo wrestlers against each other along with former NFL players. They do not test for drugs either at all. Their are some massive suspects. I am talking as a former fan until they started going in the direction they took with the freak shows. The lighter weight K-1 MAX competition is pretty good but they seem to be going in the same direction as regular K-1, so fornicate it.

its not even techinically that good at times. (From a martial arts perpective) the same way it draws over the hill boxers in some cases it draws over the hill kick boxers and karate experts. If they put that japanese guy in with the present wordl karate champ he would get his fornicating arse kicked from pillar to post.
The guys right at the top however bonjasky, hoost etc are pretty good the problem is theres only a handful of the elite who are worth taking note of)

How ridciculous to put over the hill boxers who cant kick in there, thats like letitng a one armed boxer fight for the world title. In short a joke.

lets get it right, the real K1 fighters are excellent athletes. The likes of Le Banner, Ignashov, Bonjasky are awesome....

however, the K1 freak show ie: washed up boxers, ex football players, ex sumo is RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I agree thats more or less what I said, however some of the supposed top guys (the japanese guy that fought mercer last night for instance) are not top of their game. He is a gimmick as a japanese fighter to breed home support and generate money, whenever he goes up against the top lads he gets done. As he would against the top karate lads.

Its the gimmick fighters that are crap.
