Told me himself at the Gomez Johannesson fight he was coming back, and its been mooted on numerous occassions.

May be going to that show, I know Hookie is going, so it'll be interesting to see how he looks. Rest of the show is very Home fighter V stiff though, painfuly so in some. Believe its being promoted by Olly harrison.

Oh my god he's not fighting at this is he?! Yes I'll be there so I'll report back as to how he did unless anyone fancies joining us.....

Just spoken to Shane Thomas - Doran's coach - and he said Brodie is apparently looking in good shape....he looked bloody awful on TV six months ago so I hope he is back on form.

What do you mean by dodging bullets?
I have family in Hawarden and its pleasantly quiet there.

I was in Hawarden the other day - quite nice actually.

I have to go to Holywell as well so might try and combine this.

Manchester's Michael Brodie, a former undefeated British, Commonwealth and European super-bantamweight champion, launches his return to the ring later this month in Wales (May 23) against an opponent yet to be announced.
Brodie has been out since a rampaging Scott Harrison destroyed him in four rounds with body shots in Manchester in June 2005 in a crack at the WBO featherweight title. Before that, Korea's rampaging In-Jin Chi took him out in seven with head and body shots for the vacant WBC featherweight title, after a gallant draw between them for the same title. The smooth-boxing Brodie possesses a beautiful array of punches and plenty of snap, including a cracking left hook to the body but clearly doesn't like it downstairs himself and has always been a man who marks up easily. He is one of those 'unlucky' fighters, too. As well as the Chi draw, Michael looked to have well-licked American Willie Jorrin for the vacant WBC super-bantamweight title in Manchester way back in 2000 but for a horrible verdict.
After four major world title cracks, you wonder how much the 35-year-old stylist has left but he was fighting well against Harrison until those body shots undid him.

Barneys a bit of a shoite talker alright - tries to be their mate instead of asking the questions that we want to hear asked.

But saying that I doubt the guys get much if anything for coming on and probably only come on becauses its an easy gig and pretty much just a half hour long ass kissing info-mmercial for them.

Any boxing show no matter how crap is better than none I suppose!

give brodie a chance he looked good in the gym and lost alot of weight.. it will take a good 3 or 4 fights to get rid of his rust, then see what he's like... i love brodie to come back good,

After the Chi draw, when Chi was originally declared the winner, of course, Jose Sulaiman gave Chi the WBC belt as an act of sympathy - and then included the price of it in the WBC bill to promoters Matchroom.

Naseem Hamed stopped Brodie in 32 seconds in Hamed's last bout in the amateurs.
