Poor Rogan. He was worried he was seriously going to hurt Sexton, which it looked like he might do. Parris should have waved the fight off. :x

Sexton had his hand by his sides and looked out of it and was looking at the floor. Rogan stood off him instead of going in and KO'ing him.

What a fight but what a shame for it to finish like that, if Rogan could have continued then Sexton was absolutely gone.

Won 17 quid backing Sexton tonight tho so I'm happy in that way, he was a great value bet. Had a couple of quid on Sexton points which lost but I backed Sextone at 4/1 on betfair pre-fight then laid Rogan for 1.3 or sumet as the fight progressed.

A real crazy swinging fight the odds were swinging either way thru-out, good fun and there has to be a rematch!

Martin Rogan has just given away the title. I can't believe it. Sexton completely gone. Out on his feet. All over the place. Sexton stagger back into the corner. Rogan stops punching and turns to the ref. Sexton starts punching back. Rogan stopped on a swollen eye. Just when you think you have seen it all.

Sexton wasn't defending himself at all and Rogan didn't want to punch him for fear of seriously hurting him. Rogan looked at the ref to say "stop it" but he didn't.

Looking at the replay, i think Sexton was looking at the gumshield on the floor.
he had his hands at his side,

wow, i had a bit profit on sexton going into the 8th and thought my money was secure. one eyed rogie comes out and nearly gets the KO. I think rogan knew the gumshield was gone from sexton and hesitated out of sportsmanship. mistake, he should have jumped on sexton. I think sexton might have survived though, he wasn't as gone as jim watt would lead you to believe. sexton outboxed him bigtime.

utterly ridiculous - jim watts twice my age but neither of us have ever seen that before

Rogan had Sexton utterly gone but was too compassionate to finish it, looks to the referee but the ref didn't stop it.....

a minute later the ringside doctor , covers up Rogans good eye, leaving just the swollen one and asks how many fingers...it was 3...Rogan took a guess at 2........this time the Doc did his job and stopped it but Rogan was literally 1 punch away from victory there!

In fact some ref's wouldn't have let Sexton carry on.

Tough sport indeed, Rogan was very sporting in allowing Sexton time but Jim Watt was right it's a cruel game and maybe he should have finished him. And Watt should know.

Absolutely shocking display by the officials.

Dave Parris, who I know posts on here, had a bad night there. And as for the doctor, well he should head for Eastenders.

Both boxers, and both corners were all over the show in the last six minutes.

For me Sexton was probably trying to buy time with the gumshield antics, Rogan should have carried on and finished the job. Great sportsmanship but he's lost now, real shame but no-one will look bad on him for it, bring on the rematch well worth watching that again.

I can't believe Parris did not stop Sexton, he was out on his feet, couldn't even lift his hands up, instead he bought him time, and then decided to stop Rogan on the shut eye when he was on a verge of a KO, he had to drag Rogan off Sexton, Sexton had gone. Unbelievable reffing

Rogan could have gone in for the kill, stops and is about to highlight the gumshield on the floor and then starts eating punches from sexton, crazy.

Is it normal to stop a fighter with a swollen eye like that when they are winning the round big?

It seemed pretty stupid to me and I think it is embarrassing for boxing.

Credit to Sam "Sven Ottke" Sexton... he did his homework, saw Rogan loves the holding and hitting to the side of the head and was onto the ref about it from the off.

I really don't like Sexton. I don't like his boxing style and I don't like how he came across in that interview.

No doubt Rogan did NOT have the same intensity. He was static and dry in the build up.

However.. Sexton is car crash tv. Looks great, but by jimminy he's chinny. He will be fun to watch.
