Anthony ''THE BOMBER'' Bellew Sets Boxing Record!!!

Post by Cotto16 »

Anthony The Bomber Bellew a LHW under allegedly's stable, has just set a boxing record, every fight journyman Mathew Ellis has lost he had been stopped or kncoked out. But not tonight, Anthony Bellew was the first to beat him, but only by a dissapointing points victory.

Thats the first time Ellis has been beat on a points victory, everyone else who has beat the jouryman Mathew Ellis, has knocked him out or stopped him inside a couple of rounds, without much trouble.

Still a good win, but i'am sure the Bellew will be very dissaponited, as he is known soley for his power.

WTF? Do you have a problem with Bellew?

The Boxrec result says that Ellis retired in the 4th round. And Bellew is a light heavyweight. Ellis has mostly been fighting heavyweights.

Matchmaking went old school. I think it's good to see. Why not get prospects in there with bigger guys so that they don't rely on their strength/weight? It's good.

Fair enough, although Ellis just seems keen now to pick up the paydays. I saw him up in peterlee about a year ago, he retired that night on his stool, too.

Yeah, fair point. After his knockout by Tyson Fury, I'm a bit surprised Ellis is back so soon.

If Bellew won by stoppage then shouldn't this thread be locked or something?

Is this thread meant to be a joke?

Ellis went down a couple of times from body shots and his cornerman threw the towel in. I think it was the 4th round if I remember correctly. Up until that point he was competetive but Bellew found the weakness downstairs and looked sharp.

From what I saw Bellew is impressive and a potential star for the future. Ok so Ellis is no world beater but he has been mixing with the big boys and gave it a go in this one. There was a bit of talking going on throughout the fight but I think it was good natured on both parts and each man let out a huge roar when the fight ended!

Bomber has been out injured for a while as well with his hand, 'twas his first fight back.

Who else on the card looked decent (apart from the Olympians)?

If you are going to lie about it you might as well go the whole hog and say Bellow got beat!
It is also worth remembering that Ellis is a heavyweight and Bellow is two weights and about 4 stone under that

Sinclair was performer of the night mate. He detonated Coyle and hurt him with every combination. Nearly had him out in the first and then on extremely wobbly legs in the second and then down. The ref should arguably have stopped it sooner but eventually in the third, with Sinky pinging rights and lefts off his head, it was called off.

Coyle, as expected, came forward but walked on to all manner of shots, including a solid jab and left hook off the jab. Sinclair is targetting British honours again.

Wilton got heavily knocked down against his opponent but he may have done enough over the stretch (ended a draw).

Belshaw was pulled off the card due to opponent issues and O'Hara looked sharp against Baguley.

Well done Tony Bellew - sounds like a solid win coming off the injury.

FW should do like UFC do and make the untelevised undercard matches available on their website - it would give me a reason to visit the place.

A nice one - two for the Arnie Farnell camp with Funtime Franky winning on the card as well.

Keep up the good work lads :TU:

On Thursday Bellew was down to fight a Nigerian, Michael Gbenga, so Ellis must have been a late replacement. A good win for a fine prospect.

Obviously Ellis is on dire form. But Bellew is a light heavyweight and I'm glad they've got the confidence to beat up a bigger man.

Good win for a light heavyweight but bellew is no world beater, the reason i say that is because when u see potential world class it oozes out them a la stepehen smith, he is not fast enough and power is over rated. But a good win all the same.
