Did a fair job. It's all a bit surreal.

Potter looked to be in good shape :TU: .

That about sums it up!!

It's not that John's performance is bad (I've certainly heard much, MUCH worse), it just seems a bit weird seeing John doing this!!

Potter does look in good nick indeed, can't say same for Bean who was a near career heaviest. Soon after this a 'sporting' chant of 'you fat b*stard' springs up, prompting Steve Holdsworth to request a little courtesy!
Always used to like watching Potter fight. He's a very good boxer, unfortunately he will always be best remembered for the Danny Williams highlight reel KO.

Do medical reasons prevent him boxing pro, or is it just a bit of a part time thing now? He had a pub after he retired pro.

The Americans specialise in awful national anthem performances, check out the start of any big event like NFL or Nascar or NHL or boxing etc. and they'll have either a washed up celeb or some country & western star who you've never heard of and after a verse of The Star Spangled Banner you soon realise why they are washed up or why you'd never heard of them in the first place.

I don't know who this is but it's one of my favourite anthem performances - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htK5MnZbXx0

It's not an edifying spectacle, Bean was a 100lbs over his 'best' weight' and had been knocked out only six days earlier by Wesley Correira in a kickboxing match (kick to head), in the short time this lasted (2.50) he took a horribly one sided beating
Cheers. It's a shame 'cause he could definately give some of these young heavyweights a test and would be ideal for Prizefighter. :box:

i thought martin nieves did a great job of the philipino national anthem for pacman against hatton. first time i ever heard it. turns out there was absolute uproar in the philipines about how he sang it. he had to apologize to the entire filipino nation for the way he sang it

Tom Jones singing the Welsh Anthem for Calzaghe vs Hopkins was particularly dodgy.... am not sure what version he was singing, but it wasn't the correct one.

Worst one I've ever seen was Macy Gray at a baseball match - she was pelted with rubbish as well as abuse and had to leave.

Can't remember what Samantha Mumba sang for Duddy-Eastman but I remember it being wrong and hilarious.

His account is still open, and he made the edits, not a mod/admin. Strange.

I was thinking about Tom singing the Welsh Anthem, probably has never had to sing it before and he cannot speak Welsh. He was quite tuneful, just did say the right words all the time.... but got away with it!!
