The only problem there might be over all this is the question of whether there was signed contracts - I really do not know whether Billy was the sort of man who liked the I's dotted and the T's crossed or whether he took people for their word - if there is no contract then there might be a problem - regardless of any dispute concerning the actual percentage - If Billy has not been paid at all for the fight which has been highlighted then it might be another defeat for Ricky.

I think this is another case which will give boxing another bad name - and if and I stress if Billy Graham wins the case then it is not exactly a good start for Hatton Promotions.

Someone has already touched on it - sometimes you have trainers who travel the length and bredth of the country with their fighters and do not make a living out of it - you dream of the chance of training a champion - one for the boxing side of things and the other is you might just make a few quid out of it to pay the bills.

Whether people think its excessive money - I do not feel it is - Billy Graham is getting a very very small percentage of what Ricky Hatton has been paid in a number of fights.

Good Luck Billy Graham it would be good for you to get the money you have rightly earned!!!

Makes you wonder if he had a contract with Hatton for 10% until the end of Ricky's career but when Hatton started earning mega money he thought sod it, Billy's old I've only got a few fights left to cash in, I'll terminate his contract under the guise of his ill health rather than say, sorry mate you can only take 5%.

Cus also had Atlas briefly, and Cus was only there for a short period of Tyson's career (unfortunately). Slightly different case there, Cus was like a father figure to Tyson - took him in, feed him etc. Graham and Ricky were very close, but Ricky always had a family.

I'm certainly of the view point that Cus needed Rooney to make Tyson what he was. No way he could have done it himself any longer. Thats why Angelo Dundee only has an "advisory" role these days.

That was probably the crux of the problem. Hatton wanted Beard on board as a co-trainer and Graham didn't. The money issues coming out now show that Graham at least waited until after the Pacqiou defeat.

fair play to him for that, but he wasnt equipped to train a fighter at the top level, just like kelly pavliks trainer Jack Lowe. Liabilities. In fairness, Hatton has shown to me that he could be a quick learner with Floyd, he looked like he mastered the pads and in the malignaggi fight he looked better than he had in the past. he will always be a level below pacman and floyd.

Agreed, and lets not forget Maliganaggi isn't that great. So what if Hatton looked good on the pads with Mayweather Sr? He looked shite at the weigh in both of his fights post Graham.

Floyd Sr was porbably brought in to sell the fight a bit more and maybe get an inside track on little floyd.

Have you ever known a fighter to be introduced by Buffer going "Trained by Head Coach Floyd Mayweather Sr, the fighting pride of Manchester England.......". It was ridiculous, almost as ridiculous as the Karate Kid style trophy they gave to Freddie Roach for winning the battle of top pound for pound coaches.

No way Mayweather was paid 10% of the Pacman purse, I thought it was clear he was on a wage, which would still have been higher than 10% the wage of the other fighters he was training. And he's better because he'll at least try (unsuccessfully) to teach Hatton to box and keep his hands up to defend himself. Look at what he did with Floyd Jr, Joan Guzman, Chad Dawson, Forbes and Delahoya rates him the best trainer hes worked with. All those fighters improved with him, some leaps and bounds and ofcourse he trained the best P4P of a generation from scratch.

Agreed Hatton would always have beat Malignaggi but also any version of him always have got blasted out by this version of Pacman.

Billy Graham took a 2 week holiday in the middle of the Lazcano camp didnt he? So why should he get the full pay when he didnt attend the full training camp.

Everyone is quick to berate hatton without knowing whats happened.

Billy is such a nice guy, he chose to go to vegas for the malignaggi fight, yet didnt attend the fight, what was all that about? so he could go to the pubs and bars and slag off members of the team? this is what people who met him said he did.

So he turned up at that one, knowing what he knows, surely that would unsettle Hatton?

Then roll on a few months and he is at it again, releasing information stating he is suing hatton in the week up to the Pacquiao fight, I also heard rumours he went over to vegas but again didnt go to the fight.

Any trainer who gets over £500k for one fight wants to think himself lucky.
