This is getting rather tedious now!

Everytime Ricky Hatton gets beaten, there's some ridiculous excuse.

First it was the referees fault that Floyd Mayweather Jr landed a peach of a punch in the 10th to finish him after outboxing him easily, then secondly, Pacman pulverises & lays him out in 2 because Floyd Mayweather Sr turned up late for training on more than one occasion!

Ricky's father is making him look like a right numpty!

Quite a few people I've spoke to have paid top notch money for a ticket & have got very little in return.

Hatton turned up in the North East back end of last year and asked for 2K more than what he was due to get paid or he wasn't going on......nothing better than a government MP!

Whose elite and who is not.... sorry for me, Kostya Tszyu even in 2005 was an elite fighter.
Stu my definition off Elite is definetly Mayweather and Pacman . Kosta well to be honest because i was such a huge fan of his at the time i would off classed him has elite , Hindsight being such a great thing , i've got to admit looking back i cannot see how i and so many others , could think a guy coming off a very bad shoulder injury and i know it was a bad one because i had the same , a guy who had only fought once in a couple off years , and the fact that has i said before KOSTA was well renowned for drinking more than Ricky and blowing up in weight in between fights , how he could off been at his elite level .

I know it was only 3 rounds, but his performance against Mitchell was among Kostya's finest. For me showed he was elite. I am sure if people would have been making threads the day after Kostya's win.... like Tszyu vs Mosley, Tszyu vs Cotto, Tszyu vs Mayweather who wins - I think there would have been a fair few going for Tszyu.... might not be the majority, but certainly not a forgone conclusion and in the same "bracket".

I think that what this whole saga shows is................

YOU ONLY SEE PEOPLES TRUE COLOURS WHEN THINGS GO WRONG

Ricky Hatton was seen as a nice man of the people - on top of the world - unbeaten - everybodys favorite - one of the lads - down to earth

then he gets beat - makes excuses - people get sacked - arguments over money - etc, etc

I'm not just be hateful towards Hatton

Lets be fair

Same applys in a way to Enzo Maccarenellli

Enzo - nice lad - likeable fellow - can do no wrong, etc, etc

then he gets knocked out a couple of times - and makes excuses, made a "mistake" and blood tests and refuses to acknoweldge he lost to the better man in David Haye and Ola Aflobai

All I made was a point of similarity of between two nice guy British Boxers - Hatton and Enzo who refused to accept defeat gracefully and came out with a list of excuses.

and you come down breathing fire on me for banging on about Enzo

its not like I started a thread on Enzo or anything like that

and how am I a stalker?

I fail to see how anyone with a modicum of brightness could compare Ricky and Enzo. The former, for all of his faults, reached the economic pinnacle of the sport - headlining in Vegas, HBO ppv a multitude of times. The latter is a bit part player.

last year or the year before, hatton did an after dinner speaking show/thingy in boston in lincolnshire, now, i know boston is a shite hole, but he was well paid for the evening but he could not get away quick enough im afraid.

Hatton showing his true colours there I am afraid

He is not a "man of the people"

Being a beer drinking lout - who is rude - who flashes his bum at photographers on nights out - who uses crude language to tell crass jokes - and eats crap food - and talks bollocks to the media about being pound for pund king

that is not down to earth :shame:

thats just being a crass rude chav

being down to earth was someone like Manny Pac - polite and respectful - got time for everyone - will sign autographs and speak to fans - even when there is no money in it for him - and just lets his fists do the talking

Hatton has never been "down to earth" "man of the people" - just a rude crude chav

Sorry mate, got to disagree.
NEVER is wrong.
RECENTLY maybe.
I worked with Ricky 5 years ago on a couple of Charity events I organised, and you couldn't have wished for a better guest.
For one of the functions, I gave him £500 and he spent it in the auction.
For the other, he signed on the night at least 60 posters, charged a tenner a piece and put it in the pot.
I did meet up with him shortly after the Mayweather fight at a dinner and he made time to talk despite a tight time schedule.
It is fair to say that he has milked his popularity till the cows tit has run dry, and some members of the entourage have got too big for their boots (one in particular), but ultimately he's a good kid.
I remain critical of a number of issues and I've made my opinion clear on here, but I think the personal stuff is a little ott.
