Matthew Thirlwall v George Hillyard ?

Post by THEBUTCH »

One schedule shows them matched against each other on the Barker-McDermott undercard, which is shaping up nicely.

Thirlwall V Hillyard has the potential to be fight of the night :box:

What weight is this fight at?
Thirlwall has been around the supermiddle division in hsi last few fights , and Hillyard has been middle.

I think Thirlwall will have a bit to much all round for Hillyard, but could a be great fight.

Thirlwall for me. I'm hoping the Southern Area title will be on the line, which will give the lads that extra bit of hunger.

Hillyard has always been hungry as far as I can tell - that has never been the problem :)

Thirwall should win this one although it could be a cracking scrap if both are in the mood.

Good fight

Good scrap whilst it lasted, but Thirwall was too good for Hillyard by some distance. Cracking left hook from Matthew which effectively ended the fight. Good cornerwork from Tony Simms in getting Hillyard out of there.

Thirlwall looks like he's ready to do ten or even 12 tough rounds now with any of the top British contenders. I'd like to see him take one more quality fight before stepping in with a Macklin or Barker just yet, but I suppose you have to take opportunities when they appear, and he's had scarce few of those.
