Munroe Vs Martinez 3

Post by Adamj1987 »

I dunno if this has been put up here i searched and couldnt find it

rendall munroe has been offered an IBF eliminator against Kiko martinez as they are both the highest rated by the IBF that are eligble to fight

any thought?

i think it would be another lop sides boring fight with a win for munroe

i dont think the dunne fight will ever happen IMO

the reason munroe vs martinez has been mandated is as follows

Number 1 contender Jeffrey mathebula just lost to caballero so has dropped down the rank
number 2 is vacant
Number 3 jhonny gonzalez challenger toshiaki nishioka for wbc belt on 23rd so hes out of the running
number 4 seve molitor fights number 8 herberito ruiz but the ibf states if someone is KO'd they cannot fight for mandatory in next fight so if for 2nd spot
Number 5 is Munroe
Number 6 takalani ndlovu has moved to feather
number 7 is martinez

so munroe and martinez are the highest rated 2 who are able to compete for mandatory spot

munroe is number 3 with WBC and his EBU mandatory simone maludrottu is number 4 a good win there could put him in line for wbc belt i dunno though

i dont mind trilogys if they have any meaning like it was one apiece going into the 3rd fight.. The first fight was ok but only due to a Munroe win against the odds, the 2nd fight was a snore fest..

Why don't they just make Munroe mandatory? 2 clear wins against Martinez previously should should show that he is the better option. No need to do it again.

Because Steve Molitor is fighting Heriberto Ruiz in another eliminator and there's a good chance the IBF will want to match the winners of each fight rather than decide that the winner of the fight between the two weaker fighters should be for a mandatory position.

the molitor fight is for the number 2 spot behind the winner of munroe-martinez though you could be right about matching molitor-ruiz winner against munroe-martinez winner

How can the result be any different? Munroe should probably be put in with someone else.

lol Isaac Nettey must be good, beating him has moved Munroe up two places in the IBF rankings.
