I think the rumor is wrong. Erick didn't enter the tourney so the spot usually goes to the guy who did and that was Raeese Aleem. It doesn't matter much as Raeese did very well at the NGG and I thought he won his semi-final bout against Shem Pagan (3-2 split) and Erick vs. Shem in the finals was very close (4-1 split). I had been looking forward to seeing Raeese vs. Erick at the state tourney.
