There were some good bouts. Javonn Barnes v. Leandre White was a good bout. There were other good bouts in the 141, 152 and 165 weight classes. The JO tourney had some good bouts too.

They should have put the non-tourney bouts after the tournament bouts. They had something like 18 fights divided in two rings that were not part of the tournaments and they put them first. That's unfair to the tournament boxers and the spectators who came to see the tournaments - J.O.'s and the Senior Open.

I had the 2nd from the last bout so I had to stay until the end and it didn't bother me too much to have the matched bouts at the beginning. It is a way for kids to get experience and that is what the tourney is all about. It was much better than 9 years ago when they had the Silver Gloves and Men's Senior Open tournaments together. They had one ring and the bouts didn't get done until midnight both nights. This time they had two rings and they started the bouts earlier on Sunday so they were done by 8pm or so.

My one suggestion is to put more of the matched bouts on the card on Saturday and go ahead and put them at the end so there are less complaints. Put a few of the championship bouts on Saturday too so Sunday gets done a little sooner. Other than that it was fine.

I didn't see Dan Smith at the tourney. As far as the 141 and 152 classes, I will do the best I can from memory.
141 - Johnny Garcia, Morris Young, Tyrone Washington and 1 more who lost the first day and I can't remember who it was.
152 - Leandre White, Javonn Barnes, Dorian Hatcher, Tony Harrison, Travis Watson, Spencer Weiss and one more that I can't remember.

The rematch between Blue and Pinky was much better this year. Blue really took it to him. Blood was everywhere.

Jonny garcia banged his guys up to. I think both Jonny and Leandre is a lil tired from nationals. Jonny looked a lil slower to me...and Blue hurt his right shoulder, and then his left hand in the finals.

But the fight i wanted to Leandre vs Tony fight number 4. :-(

I hope these guys do good in regionals
