kerry foley US debut
kerry foley US debut
kerry foley us debut is on the 16th may on top rank promotion at smw
Re: kerry foley US debut
Kerry must be keen on building up his flybuy points as he is also penciled in to meet Joel Casey (who has not had his arm raised in victory in his past 5 fights) down at the Gong on 29th May as part of Shannon Taylor's promotion.

Re: kerry foley US debut
considering stablemate hopoate fights on the 22nd may and the fact kerry has already beat casey i heavily doubt this fight is happening ever
Re: kerry foley US debut
Who's he fighting and which location?kimf wrote:kerry foley us debut is on the 16th may on top rank promotion at smw
Re: kerry foley US debut
there isn't even a SMW fight scheduled on that card
Re: kerry foley US debut
sorry not sure of the name of the guy he is fighting apparently he has had around 15 or so fights
kerry wanted 6 rounds but they are only giving him 4
it is suppose to be televised on espn in australia that is why kerry opted for this card but it wont be live and i dont know when it is televised
kerry only signed the papers last friday our time due to 4 opponents pulling out after seeing his fights on youtube
kerry is definitely not fighting casey on the 29th

unfortunately..not much of an opponent
Re: kerry foley US debut
everybody knows that sometimes records are misleading
look at terrance fight on youtube he is better than his record suggests
and his opponent of 13-0 looks crap and was an ex olympian

Re: kerry foley US debut
ease up there Kim. I'm not having a crack at Kerry. It was a casual observation.kimf wrote:everybody knows that sometimes records are misleading

However, upon closer scurtiny, Terrence isn't a world beater. Looking at his record he has managed to win 2 of his last 13, with his 2 wins before that against guys with losing records. Hard to be mislead there. The guys he has been fighting are hardly bums, but not really contenders either.
Re: kerry foley US debut
toppity i did the exact same thing as you and about every other person who looks up terrances record
it is shocking and when i spoke to my brother i questioned why he was fighting him
he told me to look him up on youtube in which i did and if you watch it he isnt a bad fighter
he has good punches and uses both hands and has tight defence but a slow work rate
he is tough and stands straight in front of his opponent with his hands high wink wink
he is probably like a mumtaz as he is a good gauge as the better fighters will get by him but he will push the average boxer
sometimes when you choose or judge a boxer by their record it can turn around and bite you as pawsey found out when he lost to mumtaz with a 3-7 record
a fighter i thought was good when looking at his record and with a win against the current paba champ in tim bell is sean connell, however when actually seeing him fight i was definitely mistaken

apparently so....Hounddawg wrote:WTF, are you serious.kimf wrote:all your doubts about kerry came to realisation today with kerry losing by points
Also, in an upset, light heavyweight Terrance Smith (6-10-2) stunned previously unbeaten Kerry Foley (11-1, 9 KOs) via six round unanimous decision. It was Foley’s US debut.
quite surprised
this is a terrible loss for kerry. no hot prospect should be losing to this smith dude
Re: kerry foley US debut
Too early to say he is finished?
Re: kerry foley US debut
A 6 round points loss in the other guy's backyard does not mean much.

depends who the other guy is, and what his record reads like.Brute wrote:A 6 round points loss in the other guy's backyard does not mean much.
terrance smith has a dismal record
Re: kerry foley US debut
to start it was only 4 rounds which read 40-36 39-37 x2
to put up an effort like this can never receive enough criticism and everyone is being way too nice
there will be no excuses as it is unaustralian and a criteria to being a man
kerry will have to decide what he wants and whether he wants to be another bum aussie boxer trying to top up his weekly wage fighting at the local pub

Re: kerry foley US debut
surely its not that bad?...of course its bad with those score cards (one judge not giving him a round at all etc). was kerry off at all that night?, like any injuries or illness? coz from what weve seen of him so far in oz, it doesnt really make sense that a guy of smiths calibre could defeat him 4 rounds to none.kimf wrote:to start it was only 4 rounds which read 40-36 39-37 x2

id be interested in seeing the fight actually. this was fought at SMW correct?...may be kerry needs to get back up to LHW.
boxrec says it was 6 rounds, that needs to be changed
Re: kerry foley US debut
I think Kerry now has that lost, there's nothing to protect, come back to Australia and fight the best then head over seas, this character Foley fought kind of reminds me of Rey anton olarte, who's won more fights than his record suggests, and if you have a padded record, he'll make you look ordinary.
I had Kerry pegged as future champion and expected him to get through this easily, but if he learns from this, having a loss early isn't that bad, and is still recoverable.
Keep your chin up, or in his case on his chest.

Re: kerry foley US debut
Yeah he did, and Davey Brown, he's now had 3 wins on the trot, if he had real punching power, i'd say he would be another Ganoy, but even still he's a true test, and Bohul team have done good things with him.toppity wrote:Olarte gave Asiku a scare didn't he?Hounddawg wrote:I think Kerry now has that lost, there's nothing to protect, come back to Australia and fight the best then head over seas, this character Foley fought kind of reminds me of Rey anton olarte, who's won more fights than his record suggests, and if you have a padded record, he'll make you look ordinary.
