If you are able to put me in touch with Mugabi, please PM me.
Cheers
I will ask the Ugandans down the gym if one has his number...
Sorry mate - I will try again next week.
Not too worry, we'll ask his brother President Mugabi, anyone have his number? :P

Any news on contacting him for our meet?
Yeah, I remember - Mugabi was well on top at the time - I couldn't understand why the ref just waved it off (I was young at the time).knockout artist wrote:He got Thumbed in the eye by Thomas in Dec 86.Boxingmad wrote:When he swallowed it against Duane Thomas, was that straight after the Hagler fight?
He fought Hagler in Mar 86.
Thomas should have been DQ'd.
The fight was on ITV.

I still haven't seen him in the gym. I spoke to some of the Ugandan guys and apparently he is staying in a hostel or B&B. He hasn't got a phone number.knockout artist wrote:He was the Guvnor.MightyWarrior wrote:Yep, that's him - "John Mugabi ("The Beast") - former WBC world light-middleweight boxing champion"

My trainer said when he next comes in he will tell him - I explained what you wanted. Can't promise anything....

Hi - spoke to one of the Ugandan lads down the gym last week and he spoke to Mugabi this week.knockout artist wrote:Are we getting him along to Haye - Thommo?
I may be able to get him a ticket
Situation is:
1. He would love to come, although there is a chance that he will be in Australia at this time - will get back to me soon.
2. My mate down the gym is texting me John's number later today hopefully, so we can talk to him directly.
What are the chances of the free ticket?
