At the beginning of the thread, everybody were questionning Montreal fans knowledge of Froch. I'd say after reading it, British fans knowledge of Bute is lower than Montreal fans knowledge of Froch.
Don't worry guys, we very well know Froch and the opposition he can give.
But guys, do not underestimate Bute, cause you might wake up the day after the fitgth very disappointed.
That's a possibilty, a lot of people are overlooking just how dominant Bute was over Andrade up until the end of that fight. At the same time though, Froch is better than Andrade on almost all fronts, and he'll be far trickier to get into a comfortable rhythm against.
I'm a little surprised at the mention of this fight to be honest, Froch's rise has been similar to that of Pavlik in terms of people not really being able to see past the glaring weaknesses until they proved that their strengths more than compensated for whatever they lacked. The cat's out of the bag and full credit to Bute if he takes this, because it's a fight he'll likely lose.

Zuniga was a very credible opponent. But you wouldn't know that since you probably never bother to watched any of his fights.
I wouldn't go that far. Zuniga was an opponent picked because everyone around Bute new his limitations, he's a decent fighter but lets not get carried away. Bute is hardley ripping through the 168lb scene fighting guys like Zuniga. Zuniga is an acceptable defense for a stay at home fighter, but 'a very credible opponent' is a stretch.
The only problem with what you're saying is Interbox and Bute did not choose Zuniga. Showtime did. They thought he was going to give Bute hell.
They loved how Zuniga destroyed Oganov on Showtime a while ago and they remembered the wars he had with Pavlik and Zertuche.
They didn't plan on Bute destroying him in 4 rounds.
didn't Interbox want Lacy and Showtime decided on the definitely more credible Zuniga instead? Zuniga's alright, going by wins over Echols, Oganov, Zertuche and the close late notice loss to Inkin.
Love how most of the esb lot here are pickinf Bute!
Froch has glaring weaknesses but his strength and guts have got through in the past. Have a feeling Bute might be a little too good for him and ride out any rough moments to take a clear ud.

plus stylistically Pavlik should suit him down to the ground
And Pavlik's people wanted the fight before he fought Jermain Taylor. I am guessing they would want it even more now. Pavlik would fight anyone I believe, just lets hope that Arum and Hennessy can come to some sort of agreement because it would be an epic fight.

By the way guys, Bute is much better than Jean Pascal!!!

They said to fight Zuniga because Bute's handlers were trying to set up a fight against Mads Larsen who Bute would have dealt with, with ease.
Actually, they tried to make fights with Stieglitz but Showtime didn't want a european opponent. Interbox wanted Lacy but Showtime wanted Bute to fight Zuniga.

I agree. I'm not sure what kind of fight Jermain Taylor fought but Froch needs someone to brawl with him, to come to him, to make his strength and stamina really work for him. A slick boxer like Bute reminds me of the neat-boxing, cute little Aussie, Dale Westerman, who made Froch look so pedestrian (although Froch may have been injured).

Wow if the fight with Stieglitz had been made and Bute had won it would have put him up there with the best Supermiddleweights in history.
I see Bute-Froch being similar to Bute-Taylor, only more decisive for Froch if it's over here. Bute might be able to outbox him at distance, but like Taylor he looks a bit fragile and Froch is just the type of fighter to exploit that.
