IS he any good if so when does he step up hes 15-0 just now so shud it not be soon??? IS he eligable to fight for the britsih title??

but Klitschko couldn´t be German Champion. You need the passport. maybe in Britain it is different. but what is "british" or "english"?. most of your boxers have its origin in overseas colonies....

Actually it is something that in sport does wind me up, theres a case of a guy called Rathman, the ex Sourth african under 21 captain who was born in SA, played for SA, recently scored the winning try against SA for Australia in the tri nations.

I hate the bloke.

Also the poor old pacific islands , Tonga &d fiji etc, would have one the best sides in the world if the aussies and kiwis didnt keep pinching them.

its a joke, equally so its starting to happen in england, outside of Mike Catt we have always been pretty good on this front, but with the influx of foreign stars into the game ihere its only a matter of time.

Would be easy to sort and I think a worldwide rule should be applied, unless you were born there / your parents come form there,oyou only qualify under residing there, IF you have never represented anyone else at anything above schoolboy level.

Its simple and would be easy to adjudicate and stop all this nonsense, I mean in some instances you have guys who have played for the All blacks playing for Italy...its a joke.

Ryan Giggs played for England under 17's and was captain then plays for wales as a senior.

I read over the weekend that Ryan Giggs was born in Cardiff, to Welsh parents. He competed for England shoolboys because he went to an English school, but he was never qualified to play at under-18, 21 or full international level.

The smaller sports are laughable really. NZ are particularly good at using the pacific islands as B-teams, then picking the best guys for the All Blacks.

football is most sanctioned. if you ever played a fifa- or uefa-match for one country you are not allowed to play for another country. a qualifying match is enough. in athletics it is no problem. merlene ottey now starts for slowenia......

It's Clyde Rathbone, J. He even plays for a side in SA, i can't remember which one, so god knows what sort of reception he'll get when he goes back there. He looks like he's going to be a decent player, he was awesome in the super 12 matches i saw this season, so the old boks have really lost out on him.

Cricket's almost as bad as the rugby. Symonds should be playing for us, but he chose the Aussies. What did we get in return............the hollioakes. We also poached Caddick, Hussain and Lamb amongst others.

My view is that you should only be eligible to play for the country in which you were born. None of this, "well, i was born in Brazil. My parents are Brazilian, but i'm not good enough to play for them, so i'll live in Japan for five years and turn out for their national side", bullshit.

On Ryan Giggs, are you SURE it was 'England under 17s' and not 'England Schools under 17s'?

I have heard many a welsh person tell me the later (I went to uni there), hense Giggs has never played for England at at level, but because he went to school in England, he did play for England schools (and this is where the rumour comes from). Giggs himself has said the same I'm sure.

He captained England Schoolboys, but was only able to play as he was attending school in England. He was not eligible to play for England at a higher level. Andrew Merthens is a South African too. He was born in Durban I think.

Of course the Welsh (under Graham Henry) were about the worst. Shane Howarth & Brett Sinkinson were about as Welsh as Nelson Mandela..but they still played.

Howarth weven sat on the English bench for a friendly game, and having been told he wasn't fully eligable (and not good enough anyway) he went to play for Wales. What a mercenary!!!

Now Wales play Cockbain (a 100% Aussie) merely because he has been a resident there for 5 years and married a Welsh girl.... Perhaps the WRU should get the cheque book out and see if they can sign some cross-code aussies? Brad Fittler, Andrew Johns and Lesley Vainikolo wouldn't be bad eh!!!

It is a shame for all sports, definitely.

No one appears to have answered your question.

Roman is very talented, fast hand & feet, cat like reflexes, very hard puncher, especially with the right cross, and a good hard jab.

His chin is largely untested although he got off the floor to win his fight before last.

I reckon he has the potential to be world class.

He was born in Russia and moved to Israel when he was 10.

He spends most of his time in Maidenhead, Berks and is not yet eligible to fight for the British Title.

I think people sometimes switch the country they represent because they get married to a person from a different country and it might be miles away from where they live - hence all the travel involved for training, competitions etc.
