Tucker was caught by the first real punch Jones threw, a big left to the head, and with him sagging against the ropes the official intervened as Justin launched another attack.

Was it a fair stoppage, or a little premature?

First time he has been stopped.

What Justin Jones like- can he bang? Good result for him, stopping such a durable professionalso easily.

ref stopped the fight to early, tucker dident touch ground, he raised his hands after 8 count and got waved off, premature. armchair fans are fuming. Jones hit tucker 5 times after ref was counting illegal blows but tucker eyes still seemed ok to us at ringside. :oo

Yeah, I suspected something like that. Buggers up his record a bit, too.

Justin was a very good talent as a teenager (I should know, I used to spar him) and won a slew of Welsh junior ABA titles and then a couple of Army ones when he was a senior. He's a third generation boxer, after his dad Darryl Ritchie (pro cruiser) and grandpa John Ritchie (pro bantam). I had decent hopes for him as a pro but he needs to get a move on now - 3 fights in as many years, is it?

Who was at the Queensferry show? Any further thoughts on Justin? And how did Aaron Thomas look?

No way was it a premature stoppage. The first punch justin threw and landed had Tucker out on his feet and he followed up with more hurtfull shots which had Tucker crouched in the corner. the Ref had to stop it. Probably 3 0r 4 puches too late if anything.

Thomas looked ok, not spectacular but ok. He put warburton down in the 2nd but couldn.t finish him. He went on to win easily on points.

Justin smashed him with a left hook, followed it up with a right and then a barrage against the ropes.

His eyes were in orbit and he had no complaints.

Was a great night of boxing, enjoyed it....

Justin said he had planned to throw a jab but the "red mist" descended...

Who's Justin with now? Last I heard, he'd signed with Paul Boyce, but that was over a year ago and he didn't fight.

He won his last Welsh ABA title when he was 21 (i believe). He fought agianst former Welsh Rugby Union international Byron haywood... there was a big build up all about Haywood on the BBC coverage, the fight started and Justin sparked him within a minute.

Hear he was poor on the stoke impact shows he fought on, although not seen for myself.

Trained with him for a year on and off. When he was in the army he'd come home and train at Clwyd ABA, tall, strong great jab but one wonders if the desires there after boxing from sucha young age.
