You could see how they were slapping him in the face, that they looked more determind for him to carry on than he did. I thought the body punches would soften up Belshaw, but it was a suprise that he was stopped by body punches alone. Game fighter, but really limited.whicker wrote:What about that, then?
Belshaw clearly did not wish to continue, however, he really should have taken a knee, or let his corner pull him out- I wonder why they didn't immediatly throw in the towel.

I don't mind Hagler. Apart from the fact he has been stalking me for at least four years, he's pretty harmless (if devoid of any class and/or meaningful purpose in the grand scheme of things)! He first came to my attention when he used to email the Sporting Life, often on the verge of tears, bemoaning the fact that he had lost money backing my boxing tips. I don't pay much attention to his bitter, tortured internet ramblings these days as I am in total agreement with the Bard in as much that, more foten than not, the empty vessel makes the most sound.

Pretty rich coming from a man offering tips who then claimed and cried his ass off on a public forum stating he had drummed up 14k of debts on credit cardsTheGoods wrote:I don't mind Hagler. Off the top of my head didnt Mike Holden get his hands on the Lonsdale (briefly) after around 10 fights? If that isnt the record it has to be pretty close to it..

Not Fury's fault but Belshaw sucked. He was just swinging like a drunk scally and just stood there like he allowed Fury to outwork him with combos.
Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
I don't want to be too criticle because it's only his 7th fight but I think tyson would do well to move his body more to avoid punches and work his way in he looks a bit clumsy at times, very powerful body shots and you don't see big guys work the body enough so that's good.
Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
i was a bit embarrassed for Belshaw. I was embarrassed myself I textd a fledgling boxing follower friend it would be a good contest and it was sh*t.........sure Tyson's okay, and yes he's a big strong boy , that will cause problems, but I'd like to see someone with some guile, some ability and some bollocks get to fight him. So far, no opponent has possessed ALL 3 of those attributes.
It also seems a bit sus to me that every time he's on TV Tyson's calling everyone out but yet there's whispers and rumours that so and so only got one week's , two week's notice..................does anybody actually know what sort of notice these guys have had/ are getting offered??
He's a massive bloke why can't he fight someone off a level playing field from a notice point of view and we might just get a proper fight......if indeed it's true about the lack of notice that is.

Belshaw got the fight last monday, so just less than a week. He had however been preparing for a fight last Saturday which didn't go ahead, so in that case I think it's a little different.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:i was a bit embarrassed for Belshaw. Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
Thought he looked impressive to be honest although Belshaw was not what I was expecting in terms of quality but perhaps that was because Fury took it away from him very early with that jab of his.
One thing does spring to mind, if they really want the fight with Danny Williams, knowing Danny is after the bigger pay days now as you would expect with him coming to the end of his career, surely it should just be a case of the people around Fury digging deep and the fight is there's
Perhaps it sounds simplistic but if Wlliams did his mandatory (think he was) in McDermott can he not fight a decent rated British heavy for the title.
Step up to the plate guys, offer Danny the big bucks and go and do the job.
Crazily I think Fury could already be the best heavy (Bar Haye) in the country, he has good tools, he seems to be in better shape each fight, which should mean he is going the right way in the gym, he has a bloody good jab, decent if not one punch power, and he mixes them up well also.
Now I know we don't know about his chin and without one he may struggle to get to the top but then I look at some of the top heavies and the chin deficiency does not seem to have stopped them having or about to have world title fights on a grand scale, so it may not be the career ending thing we used to think of it as.
Obvious choice if no money is put to Williams is someone like Paul Butlin or Albert Sosnowski in Britain for some rounds.
Failing that how about someone like Robert Hawkins or Zack Page, or if they feel ambitious this early someone like Danny Batchelder, he has mixed albeit lost in some good company recently, decent benchmark fight.
Still I like the kid boxing wise and will enjoy the ride, but even after such a small group of fights, he has to up the quality, its not too early, its never too early to learn and he could learn from the above even if he blows them away as he will gain even more self belief.
Hennessy likes to tussle with Frankie, make Williams a decent offer, nothing is signed with Chisora we know that for a fact, pay the bucks, get the man, Live ITV1.

Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
I would like Fury to fight Williams, that would be really impressive in only 7 fights. I think he could pull it out. After some early doubts I am beginning to take him more seriously and think he should at least make it to Euro level. Say what you want about him, but he is huge, puts his punches together well, and has good speed for someone his size. These things will make him tough to beat.

paul weir was a world title holder in only his 6th fight !!!!!

There talking about him fighting Perez the cuban!! That is a step too far I feel!! I think Perez beats Williams and Fury!!
I think he should keep at domestic level for next 2 fights!! I think a scrap with Sprott would tell you a bit..

Would be a great fight, however big chance it could go the same way as Haye Vs Thompson.crusader wrote:I would like Fury to fight Williams, that would be really impressive in only 7 fights. Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
Glad that people on here are giving him credit at last - some on here seem to have been eager to see him fail. He's clearly got potential - power, good range of shots, pretty good movement for a big lad, eager to learn, fighting pedegree etc
There has been too much unsubstantiated critism on here for a novice pro with such potential. Also quite a few offensive posts making references to his heritage.
Anyway, good to see him getting recognition - he is a decent prospect.

Lol. Bellshaw was pitiful. Sprotty, Williams, Skelton, Rogan, Audley all make a mess of Fury. Don't understand the hype at all with this guy, his opponents are horrible.

I think its his attitude that people like.overhand_right wrote:Lol. Bellshaw was pitiful. Sprotty, Williams, Skelton, Rogan, Audley all make a mess of Fury. Don't understand the hype at all with this guy, his opponents are horrible.
Skillwise, he is limited as far as I can see. However, he seems to have power (albeit at a lower level) and if he carrys his power up to british and world level, he could be decent because he will land on these limited heavyweights. Conversely, he will get tagged on the chin and I think we both know what will happen in that circumstance.

Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
I watched the fight last night via YouTube, and I was cussin to myself "THROW THE RIGHT HAND!" at Fury, cus had he of, Belshaw would have gotten his ass knocked out. It was an impressive showing none the less, he did just enough to get the point across 'Hey, I beat this man and I didn't even have to use all the tools I have in my repitoire', you know? He had to of broken Belshaw's ribs, else he wouldn't have been falling around like that from every single body shot, not unless Fury has Gerry Cooney power in those hands that I cannot see.
Re: Tyson Furt KO's Belshaw in the 2nd
Good stuff last night from Fury I was mildly impressed, whilst he isn;t the finished article and he is raw, he is starting now to win me over. In terms of domestic level he could well be the best upcoming prospect, I think he can beat the likes of Chisora, Sexton etc, seems a very sharp boxer with decent enough power to hurt people if not concussive.

Agreed. People who were tipping Belshaw to put up a good fight need looking at themselves. He was completely awful in all regards and pretty much gave up. Lucky not to get his lights punched out at the end too.forcefraser wrote:fury did his job, but Belshaw was hugely dissapointing.

Just watched the fight. Although Fury did his job well it was more of a case of Belshaw being truly awful. He must be seriously disappointed with his performance.
