Tip o' the Stetson to ya Pringle, interesting question. I don't know the answer off hand though. But whoever it is they have to have more than 6 in a row to beat Tyson's streak. Oh and I did a bit of housecleaning, hope you don't mind.

Funny how such totally mediocre "paper title" champs can have these numbers. That's probably why no one notes their (so called) "accomplishments".

:shame:
How dare you? Shannon Briggs dealt with asthma and became world champ, something SRR, Ali and Louis didn't even have to worry about. Show some respect.

- Funny, but last I checked, Briggs is just as much a "lineal" champ as Fitz, Baer, Braddock, Sharkey, or Leon, none of whom successfully defended their title. All but Leon in the HOF.

Moreover, only Leon can be said to have beaten a consensus greater heavy. It's not surprising that double standards are used when evaluating fighters.

I'm not surprised by Briggs record, but Page's is very surprising until you figure out he was riding the fried chicken in a bucket circuit.
