im sorry but his last 2 fights ppv numbers were more to do with his opponents de la hoya and hatton
the american fans wanted to see de la hoya
the british fans wanted to see hatton
if the mayweather vs marquez fight is ppv then we will see how much floyd brings to the table
vs pacquaio though , i again see most fight-fans buying the ppv to see the pacman
thoughts????
ps: there is no doubt about mayweathers talent , if he beats manny then he must be a top 10-15 of all time , i just wish being a pernell whitaker fan that sweet pea was around today , i would love to see whitaker school mayweather with that right jab all night long.
floyd mayweather says hes the cash cow???
Re: floyd mayweather says hes the cash cow???
Floyd is dillusional and egotistical . The pac fight may not come off because hr wont agree to 50/50.
That may not be a bad thing because he may take on mosely or cotto who are in his own division

Re: floyd mayweather says hes the cash cow???
No need to apologise. It's blatantly obvious to everyone except the deluded one. The only PPV that he can claim more than equal responsibility is for the Judah fight (i assume that was PPV). Zab seems to have a strangely high number of fans though so even that's in question.boxerbob wrote:im sorry but his last 2 fights ppv numbers were more to do with his opponents de la hoya and hatton

Re: floyd mayweather says hes the cash cow???
Sometimes when i listen to Floyd, he seems to base all of his debates around the money that he makes or the money he has made to date. I know that his moniker is "money", but sometimes i get the impression that beating his opponent and gaining due recignition for that, comes a lowly second to making money. As you have said, a large ppv audience is generated by who the fighters are and in Mayweather's case, the big ppv numbers came against De La Hoya, because most fight fans were intrigued and thought that Oscar could pull it off and the Hatton fight, where the Brit fans tuned in to see their hero try and dethrone a recognised undefeated p4p king. If Floyd were to fight Paul Williams, the ppv would not generate anywhere near the De La Hoya or Hatton fights or indeed a fight against Pacquaio, where once again, there would be huge interest in a Mayweather - Pacquioa fight, which i personally think could break the all time box office records, despite the recession and credit crunch.

All the money talk is tiresome wish we could just get on with the big fights. But he probably is boxings biggest cash cow and certainly the recognised number 1, numero uno. Yes Delahoya brought the viewing figures but DLH never did 2.1million before or after with Pacquaio. The 24/7 shows helped but he is the biggest draw now Delahoya has left. Mayweather-Marquez will prove or disprove how strong a draw he is
