2 other quick things

1) was very impressed with geale last night.....even watching him walk into the ring u could tell this cat was gonna give it his all unlike a lot of mundines opponents..he didnt stop coming forward, even when mundine had him under pressure on the back foot he would find a way to swing the momentum back his way (admitadley mundine did this a lot too which is why it was a great fight)...

2) mundine has a massive entourage...does he pay them all or just give them free boxa t shirts? his entourage seems larger than any entourage tyson ever had.

i didnt score it myself but mundine won by 2-3 rounds . he is one accurate son of a bitch and got thru with a lot, although admittadley most werent power shots.

i thought geale won, pretty comfortably too. but i kept saying to my brother during the fight that i just had a feeling the judges were always going to favour mundine.
geale did score a KD to imo.
barry michaels is such a twat, i cant remember wot round it was but geale dominated it and barry gave it even! he is definatley on the payroll.

but i guess even tho im dissapointed bout the result i will say it was an awesome fight, the best all aussie fight in years. the venue i watched it at was absoloutley packed, i had to satnd up the whole time

i agree, i dont use the term robbery very often, but mundine won 4 rounds MAX in that fight

Anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable watching Geale, as champion still, standing in centre ring waiting for the decision and the Man not even paying the courtesy of letting the ref hold his hand up. Bit poor Anthony, You wonder why people boo you. Its not about race or religion it's about you seemingly having no respect for others. Yes and God is great.

Also didn't like him claiming the only reason he had marks on his face was because of Geales head. Geale landed clean shots right on his face. Mundine was leading with his head as well and using his forearms.

He was for the first time in his career the dirty fighter, Mundine used elbows, punched low a couple of times blatently, that tape fiasco was deliberate, because the man couldn't hack the pace.

The rules of boxing are, if you are hit and your gloves touch the ground, its a knock down. The tape was a good ploy as mundine has never fought at that pace and you could see he was puffed and needed the continual rest. Should have had a point deducted. And should have been warned for elbows and hitting after the break 30secs into round one.

Geale took the fight to mundine. Was busier and landed more cleaner shots. Geale was the champion. The challenger must take the title from him. If there were rounds that could have gone either way.... Then they should be Geales as he is the champion.

Pretty clear I thought. He was busier, the aggressor, landed more, was never really hurt and that includes a 10/8 rnd to choc !!
Barry Michael was great a great fighter. He is and always has been the most one eyed bias commentator when it comes to Mundine fights. Absolutely disgraceful effort on his behalf.
Talking about disgraceful, was there actually a ref in this fight.
Choc was knocked down, no standing 8. Watch it. His foot slipped because he got blasted to the face. You slow any kd down enoough and you can call it a slip.
And how many times can you waste time ??? The second time his tape comes open his corner should be warned. The third a point taken off..............how many times did this happen, at least 5 ? Great tactic, Mundine was spent and it worked or him.
I am still shattered regarding this result. The best, very best, Choc should have got out of this was a draw.

Ive watched the fight twice now, I scored it like you mate. There were a few close rounds but Geale was pushing the action and landed far more punches.

Ditto, I'm gutted, Daniel Geale is all class, because that's the best I've ever seen MUndine fight.

Yeah the ref was doing a pretty bad job. A couple of times he said break and they didn't and he just sort of shrugged his shoulders and didn't force the break. Mundine should have lost points for punching on the break repeatadly, at the very least.

when i heard the decision was split i was shocked (yet obviously a lil hopeful).

its a sad fact that geale came up just a little too short, but showed us what u need to do to beat mundine.

u dont have to sit there with a pen and paper to get the jist of whats happening and how its panning out. u can tell mundine was a tad better and therefore came to the conclusion he nipped it with the judges. turned out i was right.

and thats why i said 2-3 rounds..its not like i said "i didnt score it but mundine won by exactly 115-113.

righty-o....here is my take, for what it is worth.

Gary Dean was not an effective ref'. Several times he made a move to break...the boys kept swinging and he stepped back. Lucky he didn't cause trouble by doing that. He also "missed" most of mundines fending off elbows. It was obvious for several rounds that Mundine was using his elbow as a fending off tactic and it worked. Ben...is a point deduction allowed for time wasting? If so then there has never been a bigger opportunity to deduct a point than mundines pathetic time wasting tactic. I recomend that no one ever buys 'boxa' gear, because if his tapeing is any indication of the quality of the clothing it will fall apart in under a week.

Geales effort - The first thing i noticed was that Geale was in the best nick i've ever seen him for a pro' fight. I've questioned his condition before but not this time. He worked well, but could have done a little more with establishing his jab. His movement and defense was good. The only thing he could have done imo was when mundine went into his side on defense, he could have circled to the left and unloaded with his left. He did use his left but he moved more to the right, ending up behind mundine not being able to land effective blows. He connected many times more than mundine but never really staggered him. His work rate was excellent.

Mundine - he is a pudendum. i just thought i should say that...a fornicating pudendum. However, he had more power than Daniel. Apart from the flash knockdown in the 2nd, he hurt Daniel to the body a couple of times and the power shots were more effective when he connected. He did look gassed from time to time, and the time wasting tactics let him finish off the fight in better condition than he should have been able to. Did i mention he is a pudendum? FFS mundine show a modicum of class and wait for the result with your opposition. You might be nervous about the result, but that is no excuse. pudendum.

Barry Michael - I like him. But he should not be allowed to score a fight. When he is judging the word "nutbag" springs to mind. A consistently pro-Mundine nutbag, but a nutbag none the less.

I have a question - I couldn't hear much of the commentary. So i ask this...did anyone make the point that this was a fight between two indigenous fighters? All i could hear was about Mundines heritage...never Daniel's.

My score..... Well i did try to score it and it was a hard fight to score. But i did agree with the final scorecard read out. 114-113 for Mundine. In general the blows he landed were more effective....pudendum

hhhmmm, fair enough. I tend to score by keeping track of how many points ahead I have a fighter. I don't need a pen and paper. I do need a beer however.
