That is one of the worst bits of TV I've ever seen. Khan was schooling the lad in the third and the fornicating idiotic producers minimized the main action and went to talk about a double Chinese gold in shooting.

Missed the stoppage. What a fornicating idiot.

Did anyone think the judges scoring in the first round was very biased towards the Greek?

I seriously gave the Greek 2 points. 2 ..in the first round.

It just seemed that every time he swung atAmir and it went "near him" the points counter flciked up for the Greek. I seriously was worried that Amir mightget robbed, but of course he stepped it up so well in the next two rounds it was never an issue.

I dont think it was biased towards the greek, 6-6 was a fair result, they both had a couple of hits that wasnt counted.

Well we saw it differently then I guess. I'msure I sure a few shots miss from the greek that counted, and both the Eurosport commentator & myself seemed to think Khan landed with the odd good punch that strangely didn't score.

I think the scoring was just ineptitude as opposed to attempted robbery. Both landed with shots that didn't count, and it's not the first time that's happened today. The Colombian that was on earlier was denied several legit points (although i doubt they'd have affected the outcome).

you have to remember that the judges cant see all the punches and on one of the sides there are two judges and if their view is blocked the 3 rest have to push the button, and the ref can also block the view

I didn't really get the impression of any favoritism to be honest. Khan looked very open to start with, and the Greek clocked him a few times as a result. I think rounds 2 and 3 showed they were being pretty fair.

Coming up on BBC right now I think. Let's see how the Mighty Neilly sees it

This just goes to show how much influence a commentator has on a fight. Watching it on the Beeb, I thought the scoring was okay.

Can't agree. Greek lad started with 3 unanswered shots and 6-6 was pretty fair. I wasn't worried Amir would be robbed, I just wondered if his slow start would cost him.

It clearly didn't. Once he sussed his opponent he 'outclassed' him. Outstanding performance.

I got home after the previous fight finished (just in time for khans). What was it about the winner's style that was so 'unbeatable' but awful at the same time? Khan faces the bulgarian next.

i think the judges missed a few in the first minute or so, but we were all looking for it !!!

Khan looked good when he got into his stride...

BBC interviewer was shit afterwards, basically trying to talk Khans confidence out of him...

"A lot of good guys in your group, the Bulgarian is very very good" blah blah blah

I was just going to ask how he'll fare with the bulgarian who looked quite annoying in his style, the turk couldnt really get near him when he wanted too and got quite upset with the bulgarians style.
The bulgarian was basically a very defensive fighter in the way he moved backwards using an in and out style to gain points.

No. The Bulgarian was very elusive. The Turk was frustrated because he could hardly hit him and Stilianov didn't want a scrap. Khan will have his work cut out.

The scoring was "ok", but I thought it iffy when the Greek went 3-0 up inside of about 10-15 seconds. I saw one shot land, but all of a sudden it was 3-0...

Anyway, its not like it matters now. I think Khan has abetter shot than some are predicting in beating the European champ next time out.

The scoring has been poor at times today, i thought the Mauritius fighter Micahel Medor was pretty harshly done too aginst the Mongolian huy Erdene U. He was landing some good counter punches that were not being scored.

Steve Holdsworth was getting on my tits again today as well...after only twenty seconds of the Escobedo-Mosquera fight he was making statements like "Well this American is not impressive at all"..."He is no where near as good as some of the past American champions"

Give the kid at least to the 30 second mark before you start laying into him you fool

It's all about pressing the red button on BBC. Niely is a far better amateur commentator than pro. You get the impression he is more knowledgable about the amateur game...probably because he covered it before pro boxing....or maybe he just seems more knowledgable cos i know less.

Khan was very impressive. Really excited about this kid. I know the sensible thing to do is to wait until after 2008 Olympics before turning pro....but i dont want to wait that long!

I would have watched it on BBC but it was shown delayed as opposed to Eurosport which was live, if i chop and change channels i get confused as to who is on when and who i have already taped...so i stick with Eurosport and then it helps me co-ordinate my recording easier 8)

it was live all you had to do is press the red button 8) They showed it about half an hour later on the regular BBC coverage. But the BBCi thing is great, can watch every single bout.
