I was looking for and Opponent for a Lightheavyweight who was an experienced amateur (200+ bouts) now competing as a semi pro.
Show is in early august in east london and opponent gets half of any ticket sales they make (£20 per ticket)
Ex pro would be ideal. Will be over 6 X 2 min rounds.
Need Opponent for Lightheavyweight Semi-Pro
Re: Need Opponent for Lightheavyweight Semi-Pro
Well he is either the worlds worst amateur to have 200+ amateur fights and then feel he is only ready for semi-pro boxing or he is old 35+ that wants to have a move around. Can you tell me the name of the guy as I may no someone to take you up on the offer and he could end up sparking this 200+ amateur aswell, you can either pm of let me no on the board. Was wrote:I was looking for and Opponent for a Lightheavyweight who was an experienced amateur (200+ bouts) now competing as a semi pro.

Re: Need Opponent for Lightheavyweight Semi-Pro
Didn't know there was such a thing as a 'semi-pro'?
Thought if you wasn't pro you was amateur?

Re: Need Opponent for Lightheavyweight Semi-Pro
Semi pro is just unlicensed fighting. In recent years it has become a lot more popular and mainstream, so they have given themselves a semi pro tag so they look more legitimate.Des1 wrote:Didn't know there was such a thing as a 'semi-pro'?![]()

Obviously they are getting paid for it, and the ticket sellers are getting paid well, but being semi pro is like being semi pregnant!
Re: Need Opponent for Lightheavyweight Semi-Pro
Doesnt it just menqa you're getting paid for it but its not your main proffession?
Surely if an unlicenced boxer did nothing but box for a living they'd be aproffessional boxer, just not under the BBBOC??
