Heavyweight expert Tuaman 2004 revealed on the current scene forum that heavyweight bad boy Ike Ibeabuchi is up for parole this month. I was wondering how he knew, when he PM'd me this fascinating link:

Even if his parole hearing ends with him getting released will he get a lisence to fight? Last i heard Ike had more screws loose than a B&Q bedroom cabinet

One thing all us Boxing fans know is MONEY TALKS and I think Ike has a license to print money as he is so controversial.

Normally that statement is correct, but lets not forget Tyson originally got refused failed in his re-application for a licence following the "Bite of the century". The man is the biggest draw in world boxing but is still not allowed to fight in Vegas.

Money does usually talk, but sometimes the authorities to like to set an example, and I think they will do that with Ike. Wasn't he not deemed fit enough to look after himself.

It says on his little profile that he is 280 pounds!! He will probably be back, he's broke and someone will take a chance on him.

Can anybody else see a shameful tournament coming? Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson, Ibeabuchi, and Golota. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if fights between some of these guys happened.

I wonder if he'll make parole this time. He's been know to be mad as a hatter for years, even before they put him away.
Yes money talks, but they can't afford to be too blatant here. They might end up with some unwanted press attention if they're too soft on a sex offender.
He's probably on a protected wing, but you can't imagine too many people crazy enought to try anything with Big Ike.

1) He's not gonna get parole

2) Even in the slightest of chances he does, he's gonna get deported back to Nigeria.

3) And IF, if the stars aligned and made grapefruits oranges and minstrels kings, he did fight again, he'd be absolute crap. A fat waste of space.

Everyone knows that Tyson and Golota aren't exactly the brightest lights in the house but Ike is seriously Fcked up in the head. Boxing certainly doesn't need another Psycho in the ring

Wonder how long it takes for the "result" to be processed. Im assuming the parole will depend on his behaviour while inside and also the likelyhood of him functioning on the outside. If he has behaved himself in the slammer and has a decent and structured plan of how he will behave and train to box again on the outside maybe he is in with a chance.
Im assuming he had money left over in order to hire decent lawyers.

From what I hear a consortium has got together to pay his legal fees and want to sign him up for a managerial contract when he gets out. Don't be surprised if he gets relicensed it's amazing what the power of money does.

After all, Tony Ayala Jr got his license back, and once a prisoner has served his time, why shouldn't they get their license back?

I recall when he was first incarcerated Ike went mental and had to be sedated a few times. This does not bode well for his parole. I also seem to recall he claimed to be hearing voices in his head or something like that.

A supposed recent pic of ike promoting his "get an education campaign". Ike is basically saying young athletes should get an education as he has just completed his in clink. he looks in okay shape to me.... if it is a recent pic?!?!?!???

The best thing that ever happened to me in my life, either in or out of prison, was the opportunity to return to school and get an education. For 16 years now, since my last year in school, I never realized how satisfying it would be to complete my education. When I was not in prison, boxing prevented me from going back to school as I kept procrastinating, assuring myself that when my boxing career was over, I would go back to school.

I would later come to realize, that here in America, opportunity exists everywhere, even for those in prison. It was there, that I made the decision to make some positive changes in my life and finally indulge my desire to get an education. In fact, my efforts and desire in learning have kept me on the “Dean’s List” at Western Nevada Community College for two semesters in a row.

Nothing is as rehabilitating and refreshing as education. As a matter of fact, the very situation that led to my incarceration could have been avoided if I had learned then what I have learned now. Courses like psychology and communications have indeed enlightened me on how to socialize and interact with people in a positive way.

So I encourage anyone, especially young people out there who feel that athletics is all they need to become accomplished in life. While this may be partly true, athletics without education is a waste. I hate to cite instances but, it’s true. Nothing compares or even comes close to the empowerment of learning. Knowledge is power; and, good for everyone. And so I say to everyone, go to school!
