Now running against shooting deer, that might be interesting - "Oh, and the British runner has just been gutshot by the Swedish roebuck! It certainly doesn't look good for him..."

Synchronized Rhythmic Motor Boat Racing might be interesting...

The horse jumping might actually be cool - they can surely longjump much farther than a human, and there'd also be less whining (albeit more whinnying) in the post-jump interviews with the 2nd and 3rd-place finishers.

Seriously, I think that irrespective of some of the really daft "sports" that are in currently, it could be much worse. For instance, the Las Vegas casino league (or some outfit like that) has been lobbying very hard to get *Poker* (that's right, a card game) included as an Olympic event. I shit you not.

I also hope we don't see any of those X-games styles "sports" included - I mean, grown men riding skateboards and children's bicycles is OK as timefiller on ESPN2, but as an Olympic sport? Please, no.

Oh, and among the martial disciplines - Tae Kwon Do is disgustingly pussified. Craploads of body padding and emphasis on flashy kicks rather than blows that really hurt - hell, it's way worse than boxing, because at least in boxing you can hurt your opponent with a hard body shot even if the stupid judges don't count it as a scoring blow. In Tae Kwon Pussy Do they wear frickin' body armor in addition to the headgear. You could unload a full clip of an Uzi on a guy and not hurt him.

Thats the only thing the Brits would get gold for!!

One fo the worst sports to watch is Fencing. I thought it might be ok, but bugger me it's boring.... they just ...don't do anything!!! Likewise Judo.

The 10m air pistol isn't exactly gripping either

She set an olympic record in the semi of the 400m hurdles yesterday. I'm very suspicious about this.

speaking of which the new 100 m champ looks clean huh
bult like a bloody body builder with a opne year ban in the past for testing positive for amphetamines.

Came fomr no-where, more or less unheard of prior to this season.

Hmm smells a bit fishy to me.

I could of course just be a bitter twisted individual but I wouldnt be surprised if he does test postive again at some point .

Exactly. An Olympic record for a previously unheralded athlete isn't totally unheard of, but those drugs-testers will surely be analysing her urine as we speak.

Excuse me if I've missed this in the thread somewhere, but how did those two Greek sprinters get past the drugs test in Sydney, if everyone had suspicions at the time?

I think it was Michelle smith. First she competed for Ireland but didnt she change her nationality to dutch at one point?

The only olympic sport that I dont watch is dressage (its soooo boring)
The sport that surprised me the most is Archery, it was really exciting and a really good TV sport.
