So for me this injury to Haye could lead to an even better fight Haye v Vitali . He last defended his title in March, so he should be looking at a defence in the next 3 months.

Did anyone listen to Radio 5 last night because Haye was interviewed on it? Obviously nothing was said or it would have come out last night, same with Haye's twitter post.
Seems a bit strange though that between last night and 2/3 o'clock he injured his back, it was diagnosed and deemed serious enough for it to be cancelled.

Actually I wonder if Haye's 'injury' has something to do with him suddenly not fancying the fight against such a big man...wait wait.....not calling him a bottler - but bashing up the static BOnin and the shot Montell Griffin (whilst suffering a knockdown) do not prepare you to face a big, strong, powerful (albeit cautious) heavy champion.

Maybe his sparring went badly EG with David Price - a big man, and not nearly the fighter Klit is. Anyone know if Price is out in Cyprus? Maybe he Ko'd Haye or something in sparring.

Just a possibility.

On the other side of conspiracy theories mabe there's some problem with Setanta - they've had rumours of going bust, maybe the money they were going to pay is no longer available etc.

This is what I received in an attachement from the Klitschko Management Group. I'm not sure if it has already been posted.

"The fight between IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko and David
Haye is cancelled. The reason is an injury of David Haye. Further details are not known yet.
Klitschko Management was informed about the cancelation on late Wednesday afternoon.
Nevertheless, the fight night on June 20th at the Veltins-Arena in Schalke is supposed to take
place.

“I am very disappointed that the fight got cancelled. I’ve been in training camp for weeks. I
am in top condition and I was really looking forward to fight night. I don’t want to disappoint
the fans in Schalke and I am willing to fight a different opponent as well”, said Klitschko.

“We will do everything to realize this fight night. After having recovered from the first shock,
we will work on finding a top opponent”, confirmed Bernd Bönte, Managing Director of the
Klitschko Management Group.
