What made me laugh is Spud's disgust and disbelief that the "prominent member" of Team Haye could possibly have preferred NOT to tell him the truth. I mean does this prominent person know who he was speaking to.

As for the contenders list, I find it hard to believe Wladimir is going to want anyone of completely different style or size to Haye. Chagaev, Boswell, Brewster, Sprott are logical choices, this is a voluntary - is it still governed by the rankings?.

Can't see Valuev getting the job, equally, he's been preparing for a short-dumpy opponent.

The camp were giving absolutely nothing away yesterday up to midday.
I was with Ryan sorting out some paperwork and he spoke to Cyprus on the phone.
No inkling at all that anything was not right.
Curtis has been out in Cyprus for a couple of weeks in the training camp, and all was well.

However if Setanta are so deep in the sh*t that they cant pay him at all (and remember thats the only money he is getting for this) and the team are not willing to risk fighting Wlad for free then I will be very pissed off at the situation.

If this is anything to do with setanta not paying him then there is no reason for him to fain injury
as we cant expect him to fight for nothing

I think it was kind of thrust on him at the last minute. I know he was sat in a room discussing it with his wife for a bit and I suppose it wasn't really clear if there was any risk of infection or not and it would have been another worry for his wife. I can see that could have played with his mind only a few hours before a big fight.

Sounds ike Valuev didn't fancy it, he is happy to take the risk of fighting but having a vaccination jab would be far to risky!

Haye was so desperate to get the fight he let Klit have all the advantages, fighting at home, all the options, taking a very short purse. In fact I think his money would only come from Setanta, Setanta can't even pay their normal bills and are on the verge of bankrupcy. Is there the possibility that Haye was not gonna get paid, and the fact he was a big underdog, all this would lead many people to think better of taking the fight

think theyve relised the spl is a waste of money so ae trying to renegotiate the terms of the deal iv had setanta since it started and iv only watched the old firm games the other games are league 1/2 quality

Been rumours they're struggling badly for a while though. How many cancellations will they get now the premiership season is over and they've lost one of the packages next season havent they.

Hold on just a second, now while the whole contract saga was ridiculous, David Haye was in no position whatsoever to be making demands, he hadn't beaten a single live heavyweight threat and jumped the queue straight into a title fight, he got the break of his life when they agreed to fight him and unfortunately for Haye he's had to pull out.
