Besides the fact that fighting peter would be way too costly financially at such an early stage of his career. Peter's hardly going to get ranked any higher by beating fury is he? I'm sure he would want big money for the trouble anayway.

It seems to me that when the fighters' dads get involved things get more difficult.

Hatton, Khan & now it seems Fury have all had their dads trying to control them etc, when really it's down to the promoters & managers to get them going in the right direction at the right speed.

It all depends on what the dad is like, both Hamed's and Hatton's were clearly guys who took control of their sons career, but both fighters got the big fights and maximised their earnings.
Obviously it put the promoters noses out of joint but it was all for their sons benefit.

I'am as patriotic as anybody and we do have some cracking trainers in this country but lets face it, the very best have always been the yanks.

As for Fury being "over-exposed" right now....whether we like it or not(and plenty have not over the years)the Heavyweights are the flagship. They make the most money, are the big guys and tend to become the bigger stars of the sport.
Chuck in his name and that he is English...well, you may want to avoid Boxing News, Monthly and any other Boxing magazine or British Boxing show over the next few years because he is only going to get more popular all the while he is winning.

Tyson Fury a Knockout with the media

Unbeaten heavyweight sensation Tyson Fury continues the build up to his seventh pro fight by joining Steve Bunce on his Boxing Hour today (Thursday) on Setanta Sports News.

The show kicks off at 2pm and Fury will discuss his phenomenal rise through the heavyweight ranks since turning professional last December and look ahead to his next outing at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan on Saturday week (June 13th)

It’s all part of a busy week of media activities for the 6 foot 9 inch 20-year-old sensation from Manchester who was a guest on 5 Live Boxing on BBC Radio 5 earlier this week and he’s also the subject of an in depth feature in this Saturday’s Daily Express.

“The media attention comes with the territory,” said Fury. “If people are looking to talk to me then I must be doing something right. People say I talk a good game but you have to be confident in this business and I’m happy to step in the ring and back up everything I say.”

Fury’s is fresh from a second round KO of fellow heavyweight giant and touted prospect, Scott Belshaw in Watford on May 23rd which ensured he kept his perfect KO ratio intact having stopped all 6 of his professional opponents to date.

Fury’s next outing will be as the chief support to the John Murray – Scott Lawton British Lightweight title fight at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan on Saturday, June 13th.

yeah read that last week but then a pal rang me yesterday and said he had been in with Hughes since then.....

Yes Tyson has shown improvement and has alot of potential, but he has yet to be hit on the chin which is what it mainly comes down to.

You do realise that Sam has to actually throw 1 entire punch to even have a chance of hitting Fury on the chin. Its not "mainly what it comes down to" at all is it?
