Zuri Lawrence/Jameel McCline fight - wrong scoring?

Post by djm »

I noticed what looks to be an incorrect line on the Lawrence/McCline fight. It's stated as a UD win for Lawrence, but one of the scores indicates a McCline win. Perhaps it's just entered backwards?

2005-10-21 238½ Jameel McCline 268½ 32-5-3
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Hollywood, Florida, United States W UD 10 10
~ referee: Tommy Kimmons | judge: Ric Bays | judge: Bill Ray | judge: Mark Streisand ~
Judges scores: 97-93, 97-93, 90-100.

But only when watching Zuri Lawrence's BoxRec page as the first score refers to Jameel McCline. It's because the scores have been entered into that section in which editors can insert free text. If the scores were attributed to the judges instead, the first score would always refer to that boxer whose BoxRec page is being watched. But maybe it is unknown which score total belongs to which judge.

The Florida commission does not report the judges scores
and the media doesn't report the judges names.

So we have to hope for a lot of identical judges' score totals in the future.
