He had a hunched, almost peek-a-boo style and landed one of the greatest right hands I've ever seen against a poor American import Pete Seward. Seward poked out a long jab, Jones ducked underneath it, then, still under the jab, unleashed a devastating straight right. Fight over.
The left hook he finished Laing with in the rematch is the punch he regards as the best of his career.

I have that fight, I think, very poor quality though. Jones' power was great, part precision. There are so few genuine KO artists around these days, it is great to watch someone like Colin patiently pacing a fight, safe in the knowledge that his bingo shots would do the trick, after his body shots has bashed the granny out off the other guy.

See he was on the ABA's the other night. Buncey said he is 'arguably' the greatest Brit never to win a world title, I think he is the #1 in this class, although there are some other big names that did not make it that far.

Manny was spot on there, if Jones could have thrown combinations he might have licked even better than McCory.

Wish I had seem that int, as it is a very vaild point, the difference between the two was that McCrory could flurry his way into a lead in those later rounds. Curry also blitzed away with them. Leading to a varient on this being voted one of the sporting photos of that year.

Yeah, the agony of defeat before the fight had barely started, although Currry was looking pretty damned sensational.
It was F rank Warren's first ever world title promotion.

Got to admire Curry in that fight, saw the blood and homed in on it. Colin had been cut in his previous fight, one of the men in the other corner was a very young looking Mick Williams, although I doubt he would have been able to do anything with that gash. Not quite sure when Mick became 'the rub' though.
