Dunne scrapes through...
Dunne wins a very tight decision against Adrian Valdez... not impressive on his big night. A lot of people now believe he's nothing more than hype. Where has this explosive power gone?

I went for a Dunne points win - he doesn't seem the puncher he was touted as in the early days. Looked a tough fight for him on paper: the guy is Mexican champ, even if it's a weight below.
I think it was Showtime giving Dunne the build up, they just love Irish fighters in the States, but I can't see him going too far at the moment.

Good observation David and quite correct too. Roache went down in my estimation as "the honest man of boxing" during his post fight interview with Sky following Tyson's defeat. He sounded like he was not surprised and when he said he was proud of Mike in there, it gave me the impression that he expected a worse beating - cause he didn't seemed stunned at Williams' effort. Sounded like he knew Tyson would last, and gave me the impression that he didn't want Tyson to even return to the ring for that fight. Why all the crap about 10 rounds of sparring and being the best he is in many a year.DavidPayne wrote:Another knock on Roach's status as the honest man of boxing.
Dunne handled Mosley in sparring?
Tyson is training like the old days...
Alex Arthur is the next.....
PR crap.
He labelled Williams as "not being the bravest" he should have appologised for the innacuries aswell.
I'm not doubting him as a trainer and given his health problems, he's certainly a tough cookie - but he can come up with some crap aswell. Remeber him saying that Moorer had just an outlayer of fat and underneath was solid muscle for his rematch with Holyfield, what an earth was that all about.
However, 90% of trainers talk crap. Didn't Buddy McCurt swear that Casamayor was a much better fighter than ever before (before his loss to Corrales) and as for Floyd Mayweather Snr.

I'd like to see Dunne come over to Ireland and Great Britian for some of his fights. Maybe he had a bad night but if he's normally that bad, he'll get KO'd very soon. A lot of people had him losing the fight, some by even 3 rounds! And come to think of it, if he was getting caught regularly with straight lefts, Pac would annialate him in sparring, so thats obviously obviously bullshit.
Dunne vs Gomez!!! But not for the WBU!
